Chapter A Crumbling Empire

The cannon fire was ripping through the cold air of the night, it's flames burning through the flaking Snow of the Northern Parliaments breath as the shells plunge into the ice covered water and the cold steel plates like a knife through butter, some shells penetrate with good effectiveness but for some it was smashing against the deck and doing nothing against the approaching boats that return fire.
Their planes roar from the clouds spearheading towards the Azur Lane girls who counter back with their own planes however they had realised that they were the ones that were outnumbered in planes compared to the Meta girls. They could not believe that their other dimension companions could be this strong with the power of the Gods....or the sirens taint. But to know that they were corrupted beyond comprehension was enough to tell them it was not worth it's weight in gold.
It was nothing but fools gold and that is what separated them from the other girls, at least that's what they could think as the shells crash down around them. They duck and weave from the shells as some of the boats takes some bad hits that knock them out of commission. However the violent roar of cannon fire responds back to the Meta girls, "So is this what Wolf was fighting before?" Zuikaku said picking up one of the burning embers that were coming from one of the burning wrecks.
After that heroic fight between Wolf and Yamato ,Zuikaku could finally see the truth behinds Wolf's words and felt sorry for what she had done to him, she could see the sword wounds that she had struck Wolf with on that fateful day, the blood of her comrade was on her stained forever reminding the swordsman of the sin that she committed back then. For Shoukaku she saw Wolf for who he was.
In her mind he was nothing more than a soldier who is trying to hold onto an old age that was not possible anymore, things could never go back to the way it was and she knew that the other girls could see that. But maybe she just didn't have what Zuikaku could feel coming from Wolf, the feeling of hope that maybe someone could bring the old world that they knew back. A world that wasn't an abandoned ghost town to the monsters that destroyed it.
The two look over to see both Evans and Abi fighting tooth and nail against Helena who was making it impossible to get through her defences. She was fighting with a confident look on her face that she could make the two fall over and die, Zui had already witnessed others she once knew die around her because she had done nothing, it was not going to happen this time. She could prevent it if she put everything to it.
"Come on sis lets help them out!" She calls out to Shoukaku who nods in agreement. Stomping the ground with her right shoe the water erupted in flames along with her sword, the planes were roaring to life once again. She could feel the spark of the warrior ignite in her heart once again swinging the blade like a flowing river towards the other world Helena who notices the new opponents that wanted to fight her.
All she needed to do was buy time for Ash, she could tell that they knew their main goal but was unsure about the second but it did not matter, for Ash's will was her will and she was going to make sure that even if she were to burn into ashes or cut down a thousand times. Her duty as Ash's second in command will be done. However there was one person that she could not account for, his power was still unknown to her and even when she witnessed him fighting all the others alone.
Something did not seem right...it was like he was... holding back...
She didn't know why but he may of looked physically exhausted but the mental willpower and fortitude was like a never ending waterfall, it didn't want to give up even with the injuries that he had sustained. He kept pushing, even when he was bleeding on the water his mind was screaming at him to get up and keep fighting, it was like some primal instinct made him obtain some type of bloodlust that could not be quenched...no bloodlust was not the right word for it. She didn't know how to put it.
