Chapter GOODBYE COMMAND

START RECORDING: TALON

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They say sometimes that war never has good news and it is something that is hard to come by on the frontlines even at home. People search for some, people try to make some but no matter how much they try and build it just isn't enough. Sometimes the words that come out of comrades mouths sour the mood or devastate the playing field with only hope that things could turn to the better.

The looks of the others who stood by the table to hear Wolf and the other two recount the events of what they saw at the base crush their morale even further than it had before. There was hope that they would of made it out of the battlefield with some chance to regroup and recuperate to fight another day. But those hopes were gone for command... there was nothing left of the place with only the two commanders who went down with the ship.

The tears that splash onto the table and the whimpers from some were heart-breaking to hear but Wolf kept his calm demeanour, he had his chance to cry as did the other two but they were not taking it that well even after seeing it first hand. It was like the memories were crawling back out to make them fall into despair again however for the other commander she places her cap covered in dirt onto the table as she looked to the others.

Their eyes reflect the same despair that she had on her face begging for things to be different for a change but the change they got was more brutal than the last change and struggle they were struck with. A never ending climb with suffering at every corner, there had to be more to this life than just dying on a field or getting blown sky high by an artillery shell or missile that severs the bonds of life and love.

For Evans he stands and leans at the wall with a sad look on his face for the comrades that had also turned on them so long ago. He knew the thoughts that were creeping into Wolf's head by the absent face that he was making at the table, he was thinking of some other way or some other reason why they had turned on him and the rest of the army. It was just like Abigail with no reason or guts to tell Evans the truth.

It still stabs at him thinking about the girl of his dreams walking away like he was nothing more than a item to be used and thrown away. It was mixed with a sharp anger and a blunt sadness, but he couldn't tell which one hurt more to him. But he couldn't imagine the pain on the others faces who could only look like all hope was lost to this war and the hell that it has brought forth to them.

Nothing but despair and grief that struck the hearts of the team as one finally spoke. "Should we just...give up?" Cleveland said with her hands on her face feeling the toll of war wash over her and the rest like a raging river that wanted nothing more than to drown out the voices and the feelings they had with misery and grief, She looks to Wolf who hadn't said a word after all he had told like he was still putting it together himself.

However she could only feel pity for Leliana who cries with her head in her arms wishing that it didn't come to this with Helena and BP rubbing the back of the commander as she wallowed misery and the realisation that she was the only one left who could lead the army as of now. The lives of Perri and Kryuger were cut short but deep down she knew that they wouldn't want her to cry like this.

To cry over their bodies begging them to come back, that was not what they would of ever wanted and she knew it. They bled for the army just like the rest and so should she, if they were going to go down she was going to make sure that they would go down fighting with all they got as another person began to talk, shattering the silence that bestowed the team. "It's not over.... not yet... we still have each other and if we've made it this far... then that's all we need to keep going".
