Chapter PICKING UP THE PIECES

"Wolf... I can't believe it....So...we really are on our own now aren't we?"

The cold sad voice of Bismarck in the bridge makes Wolf cross his arms leaning against the bridge table to face the night through the thin glass panes that keep the water and wind out. A warm blanket and a cup of coffee was given to her and the rest who were sitting deeper in the ship for safety. AK decided to join Wolf in his boat to hear what they had to say, He reiterated the situation to Bismarck.

The desperate times were going to need desperate measures to keep themselves a float. They couldn't keep achieving these small victories cause eventually SOLAR will strike in ways that they have no chance of fighting against. Bismarck could hear about all the recovering that they had tried to do in their own base of operations in hopes that they could retake the old base once again and hold that flag high with smiles and hope in their faces.

SOLAR had smashed through everything they had leaving them to the only drastic measures that they had left. Wolf told Bismarck about Akagi's plan since she was also in on it she would have additional information on it for him but instead of being met with ideas, he was met with worry from Bismarck. The look she gave him had told the same story that AK had on her mind without having to utter a word.

"Wolf, we do not know what that Empress cube might do to you.... it could kill you, it...it could control you! there has to be a better option!" Bismarck demanded trying to stand up but the injuries do not let her get up making AK hold her back down so she didn't hurt herself. Wolf wasn't sure what to say to Bismarck, she was Ander's lover after all and having to watch him die in front of her, she didn't want his brother paying more of a price than he already had.

Only the two on the boat and the three in the command room knew of his plan, the rest would certainly object to what he was going to do. But the more SOLAR tightens it's grip and destroys the already battered burnt out shelters, he needed to take the mantel if they were to prevail. Wolf could only sigh looking back to Bismarck, "I know you don't want me to use it and I know the rest would not even let me touch the cube...that is why I need to keep it a secret".

"Secret? Wolf they aren't stupid and you know that..." Bismarck opposes Wolf but she could see it in his eyes that it didn't matter much to him anymore, after being not listened to and treated right for so long he accepts nothing and has no expectation in others around him. The broken soldier he was is the reason he has been driven to this point... at least that is what the Iron Bloods steel minded commander could only think of.

"Alright...enough arguing we need to focus on the main objective the Sirens... Bismarck since you are the only Iron Blood with a rigging, you are the only hope for your force", "Wolf of course I am going to help you guys fight, we have failed our duty for so long that it is time that we need to regain that honour". 

However Wolf didn't seem to reply but muttered a few words under his breath 

"There is no honour after that...".

The boat continues to sail into the darkness of the night and under it's cover towards land once again.....

"Sir! We just got reports from a Sortie that the Iron Blood base has been obliterated!"

The soldier burst into a pant as the others in the command room could only look unsettled upon hearing the report, to take out that base they would of needed a strong navy or air force to destroy it to the extent that the images were showing. One of the commanders grabs the photo and looks at it to see that the entire area was up in flames and smoke to which infuriates the commander.
