Chapter GOODBYE COMMAND

Hearts pound deeply through the chests of the soldiers who wait in silence as the boots hit the concrete with a thud with each step they made, it was getting closer and closer meaning that they had to act however 15 was already on it moving past Wolf with her gun at the ready she slides across the floor pulling the trigger dumping a whole mag into the three SOLAR soldiers who crash to the floor with no life left in them before AK or Wolf could move forward.

With a loud whisper "15 wait up!" comes out of Wolf's ballistic mask but AK runs forward to try and catch up to 15. They were not sure what she heard from the soldiers but whatever it was she had to find out the truth, but sometimes the truth hits harder than anticipated. A truth that no amount of preparation could ever prepare someone for the thing that lies in front of them. It was cold on the floor with 15's knees on the ground trying to shake the person up but they did not respond.

"15 there you are don't go running like...oh...oh no." AK said holding her hand to the front of her mouth as she walked in slowly like she was trying not to disturb someone's sleep but the voice of hers made Wolf worried who got his rifle and radio at the ready still oblivious to what is going on in the heat of the moment but with a small look from AK like she was going to cry he looks past her to see something he didn't want to see.

He dashes over with his hand to his neck muttering under his breath. "No you old bastard don't you go onto the after life when we still have a war to win!" Wolf said desperately taking his glove off then pressing his hand to the neck of man who's eyes were shut and gun placed underneath his burly arms. He fells the neck pushing a bit deeper but all he could feel was stillness.

It was cold

He took his hand away slowly as 15 placed her hand on top of her commanders hand with tears coming out of her eyes that she tries to wipe but it doesn't help. Like a river they come out begging "Please don't leave us..." She says with a croaky voice but she knew that there was no way their beloved commander was going to come back. Wolf looks to AK who looks away trying not to look at past comrades like this.

She couldn't accept that this was the reality they were facing but it wasn't over yet as the nightmare had only just begun as a foreboding feeling washed over Wolf like a wave of water that he sprints off sending AK out of her trance to follow behind him with a desperate rush. She was stupid...she knew what he was thinking and she was the same. If they found Kryuger like this then...

They begged for that reality to stay behind the what if that it should of sat in with Kryuger but mother nature was a cruel and twisted joke. As Wolf bursts through the double doors of the command centre, what he saw was nothing but twisted and hurtful. Command didn't even get a chance to fight back as the table was damaged and torn with people all around slumped over but one person stabbed deeper than the rest.

As much as he resented him and wanted to call him all the things that he could think deep down. He never wanted to wish death upon him, He was well respected by the rest of the forces for standing fierce with them ever since they fled to this base back in the day to make it as the last bastion but that bastion had crumpled. Wolf had hoped that the bastion crumbled before the leader fell.

As Perri sat there slumped over.

AK enters the room looking to see Wolf walking over to Perri with silence, each step was heavy hearted and hurtful as he looked all around the command centre. The destruction and the pain that trembles in his iron walled heart makes him place Perri onto the floor softly as his worn uniform had bullet holes in it. His fist clenches the uniform as he mutters "You couldn't of died to this... you weren't that weak were you?" a few tears fall out of the face of Wolf to which AK could not hold it no more.
