She looks at the two with a nervous yet ashamed look for what she had done as Leliana closes the door behind Matthews and Wolf who wait for a proper response from their commander. They were not sure what she was trying to do here but judging the way Akagi was looking at Wolf had told him enough of what this is about so he interrupts it. "If this is about saying sorry Akagi this is not going to fix it and you know that".
"Wolf please hear her out" Leliana said but Wolf looked at her with a bit of a disagreeing look. "Leliana the amount of planes that were thrown at me, République, Alsace and the rest of the base are enough for me to stand my ground, and not to mention that she was with them when they murdered my brother!". Wolf stood forward as the tension in the room begins to boil further, Leliana knew that this was not going to be a good idea however Akagi stood firm.
"Azur Lane backstabbed not just me, their commander and the people. Why should I listen to someone who-" Wolf stops looking at the Akagi who looked with hurt, her ears lowered, a sad expression she never dares to not look at Wolf in the face which was something he could respect from Akagi. "And besides why would you want to speak to me after I burnt your place to the ground and killed your leader? Surely I'd be treated as the person you people previously saw me as?"
However she stayed silent as another thing sat on the consideration table was the death of Kaga from Hierophant, it was sudden and swift making it hard to blame her for that but he knew that she would be blaming herself for her sisters death to the ends of the earth. But deep down Wolf could tell that she knew that fact all to well he takes his helmet off, placing it gently on the firm wooden table.
The worn battle scars on the helmet with the motto on the side saying "Honour the fallen, fear no end" were carved with care on the metal pad of the helmet side that both Akagi and Leliana could see. It fit who the captain was as he looks to Akagi with cold eyes to show some shred of sympathy for the girl. "Look I'm sorry but it needed to be said....I'm sorry there was nothing we could do for Kaga, Akagi... the blade wound was too severe to staunch" Wolf said with a cold but caring voice and she knew it.
She shook her head with a frown on her face to finally utter some words out of her mouth, "I'm not blaming you for that Wolf, we as the Sakura Empire have caused so much suffering that our destiny was written in flames and you and your brother payed the price, I understand if you do not want to hear what I have to say but... I feel that in all of this I can try and help somehow...". The mentioning of his brother struck a cord with Wolf but he kept that matter aside to not swirl up memories that need to rest at this point and time. The time for grieving the lost is on hold and the battle lines had to be drawn.
She looks to his sword that is graced on his back with a nod "You have a powerful loyal warship Wolf, Ohio fights just like you making sure things are corrected and put in order. Maybe this is destiny, maybe it is fate but whatever it may be it was right for him to fall into the hands of yours Wolf". Leliana nodes behind Akagi with crossed arms "As much as it sounds wrong she is right Wolf". Wolf didn't respond to the words but they could see in his dull orange eyes that it hurt.
A blessing to others is a painful reminder for him.
He consolidates his feelings and her feelings, "Anders wouldn't of wanted to see the factions fighting like this, there is not much left besides us now....If Azur Lane continues to fight itself there will be no chance for a revival.... wouldn't you agree, Leliana?" Akagi turns to see the approving nod from the commander who adds some consolidation herself. "Wolf's right, there was no time when Anders didn't enjoy the company of the Azur Lane girls but I wished they saw that". "Akagi..." Wolf's voice called out making her turn back to Wolf who had stepped closer into her view.
