Chapter RITES OF DIVINITY
START RECORDING: TALON
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The boat crashes into the waves splitting them in two with a thunderous crash, it had already been a few hours now and the sea was not looking any better than it was before. The storm was giving Wolf's boat hell but with a battleship like that it was designed to take that punishment that the rage of Poseidon had to offer. Even Zeus did not have the power to stop the mighty battleship Ohio from cutting through the rough seas without a bother.
Wolf sits in the bridge, lost in thought, he was having a deep think about all the things that have happened so far. The time to meditate was something that he hadn't done often but some say it clears the mind of trouble but with how much trouble that was swimming in his mind it was not going to go away just like that. However even if it was able to quell some of it that would be better than nothing.
He wondered about the events of yesterday of the altercation with some of the girls along with FAL and 416, He still couldn't understand why FAL would go against him even after saving Fives, showing her that he was not an enemy but a friend but he guessed that if you stand around others who tell the same lie. She was going to believe them eventually and for both of them they had a bit of an ego of who was better.
416 was always trying to be better which was something that Wolf could appreciate but the way she went about it was never good in the eyes of the Lieutenant. Maybe it was resentment for him holding her back due to that attitude but without his guidance that ego turned to arrogance and ignorance of the things she was doing to others. Endangering other peoples lives along with belittling teammates when they do worse than her.
He laughed a little, it reminded him of AK she was like that once. Always wanted to do everything along cause to her, everyone else was weaker than her and would only get in the way of the mission that she was trying to complete. Behind that smug back in the day was more of a person that was shunning someone than actually teasing someone. He didn't give himself all the credit for changing the way AK thought since she was the one who was responsible for her actions.
But he showed her at least what it meant to be a team and why having a team was important...some hypocrite he was he thought to himself. Here he was again going alone when AK herself reminded him that doing that was going against what he had taught her and she was right about that after all. It was the wrong thing to do but..... in his mind he needed to think, think about what he could do better next time to make sure something like that didn't happen again.
At some point he thought the meditation was working allowing him to relax a bit breathing in a deep breath and a long exhale. It was some sense of peace that he could appreciate but he did miss the company that the others brought. He wondered what they were doing right now back at the base, they were probably planning to do the next mission or they were celebrating the victory with the rest of the girls.
The other option was that they were mourning the loss of the Northern Empire. As much as Wolf held a grudge against the Slavic Azur Lane girls after all they had done to him, they didn't deserve to go the way they did. However in some part of Wolf he could feel gratitude knowing that they payed the price for what they had done to him in some sense of karma. It was selfish of him and he knew that, however after what they did to him in that prison cell and Azur Lane.
Karma comes full circle eventually
He gets out of the chair to look through the bridge window, that was enough meditating for now but he could feel a small sense of accomplishment wash over him like something had been lifted off his chest, while it was probably temporary it made the day feel a bit more brighter than before. He pulls out his binoculars to look at the empty sea that stands before his boat but in the distance he could see a red light in the distance.
