So,the big twist is revealed; The exterminations are a thing because the deaths of damned souls leads to the creation of Argent Energy,which the Dark Ones plan to use as both leverage to conquer the world,and to allow the Scarlet King to enter the universe.
The reason why I went with this idea is for 3 reasons: 1: the Brockverse has the SCP foundation and Evil Dead in its mythos,so I thought this would be a good way to connect them. 2: the timeline fits; if Hazbin Hotel is set in the year the show officially came out,then it fits with the events of Ash vs Evil Dead,as season 3 is likely set in 2017,as Lilith and Alastor would've left around the same time as these events happen. And 3: Some of Hazbin Hotel's artwork reminds me a lot of the Scarlet King. Examples:
