Inside the headspace

For both documenting reasons and because I think headspaces as a whole are an interesting phenomenon, I shall share what the headspace looks like with you. Now obviously we can't just take photos in our head and send them to our physical body's phone, but I can find similar looking pictures on Pinterest just to give you an idea.

For some slight context: we're like 99% sure that the general layout of the headspace was influenced by a school camp we went on as a child. It has the same kind of look and it formed shortly after that camp. There's no weather or day night cycle, it's just always a comfortable temperature and cloudy. We go by real world time so if it's night in the real world, it's night in the headspace even if it doesn't look like it. We have had some days where the clouds have gotten darker, not exactly sure why. It seems to just fluctuate at random.

There is wildlife like birds and fish, but we've not seen any other bigger animals or things like bugs. There's no NPCs aside from Morpheus (Hyp and Zags son) who is obviously cared for by them and takes the form of a baby. Arguably Hypnos' blanket could be called an NPC because it's somewhat sentient in the fact it follows him around and moves by itself. But it's always attached to him, if Hypnos tells it to do something it obeys. So??? Kind of an NPC but also an extension of Hypnos???

Let's get started with the closest to the front:

The dorms

The main building we tend to hang around in, a long hall with several rooms attached that are bedrooms with built in closets and bathrooms for most of the alters. This area can be added to when needed, currently it's only one storey but we probably could add more if it was needed. One end of the hall has the 'front doors' which you step through to go into the front. The other end of the hall is the doors leading to the rest of the headspace. There's a common area that's like a lounge room in there too, with sofas and a TV, said TV acts as a window to the front. So if you're watching that TV it's basically being co-conscious.

There's a pinboard and whiteboard in there too, that we can add notes and reminders onto so everyone can be updated when needed. The walls in the hall are a pink-ish grey and the floor is carpeted with a dark grey. We think those colours may be a nod to our childhood bedroom.

I can't find any pictures that are similar to the hall and lounge, but I do have a few that are similar to what some of the alters bedrooms look like, so I can show that. There's also a spare room for alters who don't live in the dorms to crash in when they need to stay close to the front. Zachiera tends to come and go from here since he's a messenger and travels around the headspace all the time.
