So if you're a...
I've given y'all convention posts for the past two years on here, so here's the third instalment in convention shenanigans.
Apart from the absolute nightmare that is trying to find parking in the city, it was much smoother than last year. I wasn't mid-flare up this year! So while I was definitely exhausted after the con, I wasn't in immense pain like last year holy crap.
This years cosplay was Mr Crawling!

Couldn't see shit in that wig, had to pin the fringe to the side for most of the con so I could actually see lol. But it's a good cosplay for cold weather, easy to layer and keep warm in. By the time we got around to pictures the body paint on my hands had come off a bit lol. I only painted the back of my hands so I could touch things without smudging anything.
This was also the first time I've been at a con until closing hours. Purely because me and the friend I was with ran into someone from high school and we ended up talking way too long lol. By the time we left the building it was literally dark outside and the staff were starting to kick people out for the day lol. There's very very few people from school I didn't hate with the passion, the person we ran into was one of the very few chill people we occasionally crossed paths. Literally the only reason they knew it was me in the costume is because the friend I was with wasn't cosplaying, so they figured "ah yes, the one in costume must be the friend of this girl who cosplayed all the way back in year 9". And when I casually dropped "also I transed my gender" they were like "OH THATS WHY YOU SOUND DIFFERENT" which gave me a laugh. Imagine not seeing someone you vaguely know for 5 years, and when you see them again they're dressed as a ghost and no longer a girl lmao.
Other than that, con was a regular good old weekend. The popular shows and games this year were pretty mixed bag. Last year Hazbin Hotel was EVERYWHERE since it'd just dropped the first season. This year I was seeing a mix of love and deepspace, some genshin and all the usual popular cosplays.
The merch haul was pretty average sized this year. There was a booth selling a bunch of stuff from Japan, so I snagged up a glass wind chime with a koi pattern on it. I've been seeing them all over my Pinterest for months and really liked them but had no idea where to get one, so that was a nice surprise to find for pretty cheap. Got the usual keychains, pins and acrylic stands from artist alley and my favourite purchase

I got this as a badge last year, and was thinking about the shirt literally all year. So I had to.
Also the pin I got is that crying banana cat meme.

Because it's an accurate representation of living with mysterious ailments.
And the day ended with a bang, as we were leaving the bomb ass Japanese restaurant we got dinner at we saw the FLUFFIEST orange cat with a white chest and nose just sitting on some bricks where people had been renovating a house. We tried to get to come over for pat, but he just looked at us judgmentally. But whatever man, just being in the presence of that absolute unit was enough.
I love cats if you couldn't tell.
As for system things, it was pretty quiet in the brain this year. We've gotten so used to conventions we don't really need to be on high alert anymore. So it was mostly me in the front, with the occasional check in from L and Achilles. Con's definitely aren't their scene so I'm pretty sure they're glad I can handle myself at cons nowadays lol.
That's about it for the annual con post. Oneshots will return as usual now con weekend is over. Thanks for reading broskis!
