I was standing in the awards ceremony and I was surprised that Iida wasn't here yet. Wasn't I joint third with him? This is concerning. It's not like him to be late...

All Might came to me to give me my medal.

"Congratulations, young Kirishima! You did yourself and your brother proud today!!"

He hugged me and whispered. "You got my number?"

My eyes widened.

"That was your number? But... it was an old man..."

"He was my friend."

"Oh. Why did he pose as my grandfather then?" It seems rather suspicious. Why doesn't he just give it to me himself? He is literally my teacher, and Aizawa gave us all his number. It would be justified.

"He said it was because it was weird. He didn't want young Bakugou to know."

"Right... ok..."

I was rather disappointed. I really thought I had a chance at finding something.... I guess not.

He moved on to Todoroki, and such and such.

I then looked up at Bakugou, all chained up to the post with disgust. If he didn't want to be at the ceremony, then he didn't want to be here. They had no right to do that to him when he clearly said he didn't want to.

I noticed a new look in his eye. Something different from his usual anger. I couldn't place it, so I stepped up onto his podium, and he looked up at me. I stared before my eyes widened in recognition as I looked down into his eyes.

Those eyes.... were me when I was little.

He is...scared.

Instinctively, I reached out, and I started to undo the mask of his face. He stared at me in shock.

I didn't realise it at the time, but everyone was watching us. I had zoned out. All Might and Todoroki were even watching as I removed the mask. They paused Todoroki's part of the ceremony for this. Sorry, mate.

I dropped the mask to the ground, and Bakugou stared for a moment before he started struggling angrily and yelling like his usual self. I sighed as I noticed the look in his eyes was gone. He was himself again.

I grunted and got off the podium with my 3rd place medal. I took it off and shoved it in my pocket, and I walked off. Ejirou followed me out of the stadium.

"Yo, sis!!"

I stopped and turned around to look at him. I waited for him to catch up.

"Where you going?"

"Back to the class? Mr Aizawa said that after the festival is over, we are to go back to the classroom before we head off home."

My brother nodded.

"Yeah, he did. I kinda thought you'd stay a bit longer, though. The reporters want pictures of the winners–"

"I didn't win."

I cut him off. Ejirou frowned.

"But you got a medal?" He looked at the ribbon of the medal hanging out my pocket.

"It's a piece of metal."

He glared.

"What do you mean it is just a piece of metal? You came third out of our entire year of one of the most prestigious schools in all of Japan!"

"It's a piece of metal given to me by them. It doesn't mean anything to me. I came third, and I know that. I've never seen the worth of trophies, medals, or certificates..."
