Chapter 67- Jealous

Eddy?

I couldn't help but scoff as I watched her go back to sleep. I know that whatever medications they gave to her were messing with her mind but why would she think I was him?

She could have said my name.

Did she have feelings for him? No, I don't think she does, but why would she call his name even in her sleep? Could she be missing him? Maybe she was thinking about him.

This was driving me crazy.

I hear that my woman is hurt and in the hospital and I come to visit her but she mumbles another man's name in her sleep. I couldn't help the jealousy that was eating at my heart.

Everything was so messed up right now and thoughts wouldn't stop ringing in my mind.

Was I forcing myself on her? Maybe she didn't like me and was over me.

All these thoughts were making me feel like I'll soon have a  headache.

I was about to stand up from where I was seated beside her on the bed when her eyes opened.

“ Luca," She weakly called as she looked up at me with a beautiful smile making me almost forget I was mad at her.

Her smile quickly dropped when she noticed my mood and I almost felt bad.

“ What's wrong?"

“ You're asking me that? Aren't you wondering how I found out you are in the hospital?" I asked her.

“ I'm sorry I was stressed out and tired, believe me I wasn't even thinking and I didn't want to bother you,"

“ Bother me? Are you serious? You think if you call me and tell me you're in the hospital then I'd think you're bothering me? That's insane Katherine, is that how low you think of me?"

“ I'm sorry Luca," She said with sincerity in her eyes.

" I thought you were unconscious that's why you didn't call me,” I said and she just looked down as I watched her biting her lips, I could bite it for her, no, I'm mad at her.

The room suddenly fell silent as none of us said a word. It was hitting at my heart to say what was really bothering me but there was that little part of me telling me I might get an answer I'll not like.

I got up from the bed as I turned my back to her with a sigh.

" You said his name,” I suddenly said.

" What name?” She asked, sounding confused.

" That name,” I said, feeling like if I said his name my mouth would suddenly become bitter.

" What name are you talking about? Be clear Luca,” She said. I had no choice but to say that name although I didn't want to.

“ Eddy, you said his fucking name," I said as I turned to her. She was looking at me with confused eyes.

“ What are you saying Luca? Make me understand," She said.

“ I walked in here and immediately I sat down beside you, you opened your eyes and you said his name, you could have said mine but you said his fucking name. I feel like, I feel like making him disappear from the face of this earth,”

" Luca,”

" What? Maybe you like him because I don't really understand you anymore, are you trying to play with me as punishment or something?” I asked.

I was hurt, I couldn't deny that.

" No, why would you think that?" She asked as she looked at me with shock in her eyes.

“ Then make me understand,"

“ I think I said his name because he was the last man I saw and my mind must have captured that, that's why when I opened my eyes and saw you I thought you were him,"

“ What do you mean he was the last man you saw? Did he attack you?" I asked as I immediately felt my body heat up in anger.

If he was responsible for this I was going to ruin his entire life.

“ No, no, he didn't," She said.

“ Then explain," I said as I folded my arms waiting for her to speak.

She didn't speak, she just looked down as she played with the blanket.

“ Katherine," I called.

“ You're going to be mad," She said without looking at me.

“ About what?" I asked.

" It wasn't intentional, it just happened,” She said without really explaining what she was talking about.

" Make me understand what you're trying to say,"

“ Last night when I was attacked I called Eddy,"

“  What?!"

“ It wasn't planned okay, I just picked up my phone and dialed the first number my finger could touch and it happened to be Eddy's, I panicked, I panicked okay, and I couldn't even move, I couldn't take my eyes off the shadow to even look at my screen, it just happened and I…I… I'm…”

" Shhh, it's okay,” I quickly sat down beside her on the bed when I noticed she was shaking.

She must have been so scared.

" It's okay you don't have to explain further, I understand,” As much as I wanted it to be me who came to her aid, sometimes some things aren't under our control.

I'd just have to accept that shitty guy's help, that's the last, I'll take over things from now on.

Believe me if I had gone there last night I might have beaten the manager of that hotel or anyone in charge for having a shitty security system.

I wrapped my hand around Katherine and she groaned so I held her gently.

“ It's okay," I said as I rested her head on my chest as I slowly ran my fingers through her hair.

“ I'm sorry I…”

" No more saying sorry, what has happened has happened, I'm going to take care of you from now on and I'm going to make sure I'm the only man you see before you go to bed and as soon as you wake up,” I said.

“ How do you…” The door suddenly opened, stopping whatever she wanted to say.

" Oh, did I interrupt you guys?” Her sister asked as she walked into the room and Katherine pulled from my embrace.

" Hello Luca, I guess right?”

" Yeah,” I said as I stretched my hand towards her for a handshake and she took it with a kind smile.

" Sis, I found a few places I think might be to your liking with a good neighborhood and excellent security,” She said as she passed her tab to Katherine.

“ What is that?" I asked Katherine's sister.

“ It's just a few apartments I think my sister might like,” She said and I turned to Katherine who was scrolling through her sister's tab looking at pictures.

" I don't think that's necessary,” I said and they both turned to look at me.

" Why? She needs a place to stay,” Katherine's sister said.

" There would be no need for that, cause she'll be moving in with me,"
