Chapter 86- Keep Your Enemies Closer

"I knew you were going to consider me baby, we had too much good sex for you to reject having me around you," She said and it took everything in me not to scrunch my face in disgust.

I was just following Katherine's advice, keep your friends close and your enemies closer. If she thought she was anything other than my enemy then she definitely has her brain messed up.

" You're here to help me until my assistant recovers, once she does I'll transfer you to another department..." She won't be here for long but she doesn't need to know that. I'll just play her little game with her until I can kick her out of my company.

" And one more thing, I am your boss so don't you go around calling me baby, are we clear?" I asked.

" Yes, yes, where's my office?" She asked. I felt like squeezing her neck, I didn't want her touching Katherine things, but I'll take care of her.

" It's that way, don't touch anything," I warned.

I watched as she happily walked to Katherine's office feeling like she had won this one.

I walked back to my office as I brought out my phone to make a call.

" My love, I'm really rethinking this suggestion of yours, she's already annoying the hell out of me and she hasn't been here up to an hour," I said.

" Relax baby, just play along, remember what I said, everyone must surely have a dark past, a dark secret they hide so well and until we find that you have to keep her close to you, I trust you, and I know you'll handle this well," She said.

" It's just that I know my mood is going to be ruined every morning when I come to the office to find that bitch,"

" Then just think about the last time I was in your office when you had me on your table," My eyes automatically went to my table and a smile took over my face.

" Well, that's a good memory," I said

" This wouldn't take time baby, just a little while and everything would be alright with no threats hanging on our heads, maybe then we can go on a vacation just me and you, what do you think?" She asked and I couldn't help but think about all the things we could possibly do.

" That would be really good, I can't wait for that time, a time when I'll have you all for myself, I'd take you all day,"

" Baby get to work, you don't want to keep talking to me all day when you have things to do," She said.

" That's where you have it all wrong, I'd talk to you all day long, because there's nothing more important than you, you're my life and you don't seem to know that,"

She didn't know that before her I was just walking this earth, not really living, the only person that gave me purpose back then was Anna and now with her in my life I feel like I could finally breathe.

" Yeah, yeah, get back to work, I might send you something to make you feel better," She said and I smirked. I could already imagine the naughty things going through her head.

" Naughty girl,"

" Just the way you like me," She said and she wasn't wrong.

" Take care my love, I'll see you when I get home, I love you,"

" I love you too," She said before the call ended.

Just then the door opened and Beatrice walked in.

" Don't you know how to knock?" I snapped but quickly tried to calmed myself, now is not the time to get angry.

I looked at my table and I immediately calmed down, I never knew looking at my table would one day be a cure to my anger, I'm never changing this table. Even if I do, I'd take it to my house.

" What do you want?" I asked calmly.

" Oh, I'm just here to remind you of the meeting you have in twenty minutes," She said.

" I have a meeting in twenty minutes? What meeting are you talking about?" I asked as I quickly opened my calendar on my desktop but there wasn't any meeting I was supposed to attend, nor did I have any meeting to attend today.

I turned to her and she was looking at her tab, scrolling through it before looking up at me.

" Oh, my bad Luca, I saw it wrong, it's not today,"

" Don't call me Luca, I'm not going to warn you again, I'm your boss it's either you call me Mr. Vincenzo or sir, do you understand?" I asked.

" Yes sir," That's what I thought.

" Get back to work, I've got things to do," I said as I sat on my chair.

She kept standing and I looked at her with a raised brow.

" Is there something you want?" I asked.

" You seem to forget I hold something that makes me have power over you, so I advise you treat me well," She said and before I could speak she turned away from me and walked out the door.

I continued my day, trying to bury my mind in my work. I was working on a document outlining everything for our upcoming project.

My phone vibrated with a message and I picked it up, my eyes still on the document I was working on. I had a feeling just who might have messaged me.
