Chapter 89- Where's Your Girlfriend

I sat in my car as I watched the car in front of me. The car glass was tinted so I couldn't tell who was inside. The window at the driver's side began to roll down slowly and I squinted my eyes to see if I could catch a glimpse of the person inside but the window rolled back up and the person started the car and sped off.

What the hell was that?

By now the green light time was already up and the countdown of the red light came up making me wait again.

I wouldn't be stupid as to follow a car that just pulled up in front of me and then suddenly drove away without me seeing who was inside, for all I know it might be a trap and I wasn't ready to fall for that.

I drove off as I reached the location for the event.

When I got there I parked and handed my key over to the valet as I walked inside.

“ What took you so long sir? I thought you got kidnapped or something," Anita said as soon as she saw me.

“ Kidnapped? Do you think I can get kidnapped?" I asked as I narrowed my eyes at her.

“ Let's not talk about that sir, you just took time to get here, let's just start already," She said with a smile before she walked away to continue what she was doing and my eyes followed her.

“ Wrap up everybody, the real man is here." She said as everybody's attention turned to me and I smiled at them but the smile didn't reach my eyes.

I just knew something was off.

It should be, getting blocked by a car and not knowing who was inside could definitely be the reason I was feeling this way.

My mind was distracted thinking of who that could possibly be. Was someone tailing me? Could they know where I had taken Katherine? No, I'm not sure about that. I made sure nobody was following me.

The car show started and I tried to take my mind off that incident on the road as I focused on what I was doing.

People moved around looking at cars as some reporters came to interview me and I talked to them telling them all they needed to know but there was just one nosy reporter that kept repeating a question.

“ Mr. Vincenzo, you're rich and every girl's dream. Are you single or there's a woman out there we do not know about?” She asked and I tried to avoid the question by walking away from them but she blocked me again.

“ Do you see yourself getting married soon? Or do you want to keep the playboy lifestyle forever?” Somebody help me not to make a scene here. This woman was sent to annoy me.

This is why I don't like reporters, but we need them for publicity.

“ At the right time you shall get the answer to all your questions, excuse me.” I said as I walked past them to talk to some of my partners that came.

The questions didn't stop coming but they knew they weren't getting any answers from me so they stopped.

“ They're always so nosy, these reporters," Anita said as she came to stand beside me. I just turned to look at her before turning to the man I was talking to.

“ But seriously sir, you're handsome and rich don't you think it's time you introduce to the world your girlfriend so other girls can breathe or maybe their heart would be broken," She said.

“ How do you know I have a girlfriend?" I asked.

" You can't tell me you don't have, I won't believe you,” She said. What was she even doing here acting like a reporter when she had things to attend to?

“ Are you going to keep asking me questions about my girlfriend or you are going to get back to work,”

" Right, sorry sir," She said as she quickly walked away.

My woman was already in danger, they did have to know her for now.

“ Have you been able to find him, Antonio? maybe any trace of him, in the mall, standing amongst people, anything?" I asked as I chewed on my nails.

" I'm sorry ma'am but I haven't, whoever is hiding him sure has a lot of power and they're hiding him so well, I haven't been able to spot him anywhere, it looks like he wants to stay in hiding until everyone forgets about him, which I know isn't going to be happening soon,”

“ Forget about him? That's not going to happen, I need to find him so I could prove my sister's innocence, people think she was working as his accomplice,” I said with a sigh.

“ We're going to find him ma'am, he can't really hide forever, it doesn't matter how long he hides. One day he'll surely be found," I said.

“ I know that, but I want him to be found as soon as possible, my sister is locked up behind bars for a crime I'm very sure she didn't commit,”

" Don't worry, I'll keep trying my best until we find him,” He said.

“ I hope so. What about the other issue I asked you to look into?" I asked.

I had asked him to dig up anything about that bitch threatening my man, she would regret the day she ever decided to work in that office, I'll make sure of that.

" I found something ma'am and it's quite dirty and dark, it's enough to take her to jail for a long, long time," He said and I felt my heart jump in joy.

“ Good, that was just the news I needed to hear,"
