My room door suddenly burst open and the masked man quickly rushed to hide back in the shadows.

A strange man rushed into my room with a gun and I didn't know if I was safe or in more trouble. I'd have to find out.

“ There, there," I pointed behind him and he quickly turned as the masked man ran out the door and he followed.

Maybe he wasn't the bad guy after all but I couldn't be so sure, I had to leave this place.

I tried to stand up but the pain on my leg was unbearable, I looked at my leg and it was beginning to swell because of how hard that moron pressed on it.

I heard the door open and I thought that guy came back but the voice I heard shocked me.

“ Katie!" He called as he quickly rushed to my side and pulled me into his arms and I groaned.

“Fuck, I swear if I get a hold of that guy I'm going to kill him I swear,” I couldn't help but feel relieved that someone came for me and without meaning to I broke into a sob.

“ It's okay I'm here now, you're safe, I'm here," He said as he dropped a kiss on my head as I held onto him for dear life. At the moment nothing mattered except the fact that I was safe.

I didn't know I had called Eddy, I had a feeling it was due to the fact that he must have given me several unanswered calls. That was why he was the first person I called. I don't know, I really don't know but all that really mattered is that someone came.

Ex or not.

He lifted me into his arms as he walked out of the room.

The man who came into my room earlier met us halfway as we made our way to the elevator.

“ Did you catch him?" He asked.

" No, he managed to get away,” He said.

" Are you saying you couldn't catch him? This is crazy,” He said as he looked at the man.

" We'll talk about that later. I have to take her to the hospital,” The man nodded before he walked back towards my room.

Eddy carried me into the elevator and pressed the button for the ground floor.

As soon as we stepped out of the elevator, one of the hotel staff gasped in shock as she saw us.

“ Oh my God, what happened?" She asked.

“ Your lack of good security happened," He said before walking away without giving her any further explanation.

We walked out of the hotel as Eddy carefully put me into his car and closed the door before he quickly rushed over to the driver's seat then he started the car and drove off.

“ Thank you," I whispered in a cracked voice.

“ When you called I was surprised because you haven't been picking any of my calls, I called you several times this evening but like always you wouldn't pick, I was so worried when I heard you say someone was in your room, I was worried out of my mind, the guy you saw earlier is a friend of mine from the Marine, he isn't always around that's why you don't know him but I asked for his help and I'm glad he helped me,”

“ He was right on time, that…that man pointed a gun at me, he was going to kill me,” I said as I wiped away tears from my eyes.

" It's okay, you're safe now,” He said as he turned to me with a small smile before turning his eyes back on the road.

We reached the hospital and Eddy carried me out of the car and I was placed on a stretcher and carried into the hospital.

I knew that for sure I wouldn't be able to walk for some time because I couldn't feel my legs, especially the right leg.

The doctor came to examine me as they took care of my bruises. I had many on my body, the fingerprints of that man were on my face.

They wrapped my hand and put a sling on my leg he stepped on and my head was aching like crazy because of how hard he hit my head on the wall.

They gave me some meds which started making me feel dizzy.

“ Thank you," I thanked Eddy once again before sleep welcomed me.

When I woke up it was already morning, I looked around but there wasn't anyone in the room. The beeping sound coming from the hospital machine was annoying.

The door suddenly came open and Debbie walked through it.

“ Oh my God, you're awake, you're okay," She said as she quickly closed the door and rushed to me as she hugged me but quickly pulled away when I groaned.

“ Sorry, sorry," She said as she gently rubbed my arm.

“ Where's Eddy?" I asked.

“ He left after he called me, he didn't seem comfortable being in the room with me," She said.

Yeah, after what you and Jordan did, why would he be?

“ Oh, okay," I said.

I noticed a look in her eyes but I couldn't pick on what it was.

“ I'm glad you're okay,” She said as she closed her eyes with a sigh.

“ Is there something you want to tell me? You look very worried,” I said as I looked at her in worry.

“ Of course I'm worried, my lil sister got attacked last night, isn't that enough reason to be worried?" She asked.

“ I know you're worried about me but there's something else, there's that look in your eyes,” I said.

“ There was a fight," She simply said like she expected me to understand what she was talking about.

“ A fight? What fight?"

" There was a fight in prison and…and… "

“ What is it, Debbie? You're scaring me," I said as I patiently waited for her to speak.

“ There was a fight in prison and I got a call from the police that…that…uncle Charles escaped.”
