Chapter 74- Here For You

" What?! Why didn't you tell me earlier?" I asked as I turned to her in surprise.

“ Well, if you had checked your phone you would have known he called," She said with a shrug.

“ Did he tell you when he's coming?" I asked and she shook her head.

“ You know how Dad is, he likes to surprise people even if they don't want it, and one more thing, Mr. Ford would be arriving today and you know that means Dad will be coming very soon,” She said.

Mr. Ford is the manager of the Vincenzo mansion but he had been away because I sent him to take care of my dad, but now that he was returning it meant my Dad was also coming.

“ Tell the house staff to clean the other wing for him, just take care of everything, I have to cook for Katherine,"

“ Okay, okay, lover boy, can we hire a cook now?" She asked.

" Do whatever you want,” I said and she chuckled before walking away.

I made breakfast of pancakes and coffee for Katherine as I took them upstairs.

“ What the hell, stay put I'll help you," I said as soon as I opened the door, Katherine was trying to stand on one leg but she was finding it hard to.

I quickly kept the breakfast on the bedside table and rushed to her.

“ You would have called for my help," I said as I carried her bridal style to the bathroom.

“ I called you, you weren't in the room and your phone was here," She said.

“ So sorry," I said as I dropped her on her feet and she held onto me to steady herself.

" I want to pee and you can't just stand there, it's uncomfortable,” I didn't argue with her.

" Don't stress the leg too much,” I said before closing the door and standing outside, like yeah I haven't seen everything.

When she was done she tapped on the door and opened it as I carried her again back to the bedroom.

I dropped her on the bed and took the breakfast from the bedside table then I sat beside her.

“ You made breakfast, thank you," She said as I started feeding her without her arguing about being able to do it herself.

Her phone suddenly started ringing so I picked it up and my jaw clenched when I saw the caller.

It was him, so without a second thought I ended the call.

“ Why did you end the call? Who's that?" She asked as she turned to look at the phone in my hand.

“ Nobody important," I said.

“ What do you mean? Gimme the phone, let me check," She said.

“ Just eat your food, it's not somebody you should worry about," I said as I started feeding her again and she collected the food quietly, the phone started ringing again but I ended the call.

“ Is it Eddy?" She asked and I turned to look at her with a scowl.

“ It's him, he must be worried," She said.

“ He shouldn't, I'm taking care of you, what does he want?" I asked.

He was the last person I wanted to talk about right now.

“ I'm just going to tell him thank you and he shouldn't worry about me any longer, so if he calls again just pick up please," She said and just on cue he started calling again.

I grudgingly passed her the phone and she took it with a small ‘thank you’

" Eddy,” She said.

" Yeah, I'm fine, I'm not in the hospital anymore,” She said as her eyes met mine.

" No, there's no need for that, I'm doing alright and you don't have to call me again, thank you for your help, I don't know what would have happened if you didn't come,” She said…

“ Alright, thank you, bye," she said before she ended the call and kept the phone on the bed.

“ He needs to know that you have me now and there's no for him to keep calling you,”

" I told him not to call me again,” She said.

I continued feeding her and she ate silently when her phone started ringing again.

“ I swear if he's…”

" Chill, it's my sister,” That didn't make me feel any better.

" Hey sis,” She said as she put the phone on speaker and dropped it on the bed.

" Where are you? I got so worried when I came to the hospital and they told me you had been discharged and you haven't been picking my calls.” She said,

Katherine turned to me and muttered;

‘ I thought you told her,’ and I just shrugged.

“ I'm sorry sis, something happened and it's not something I can say over the phone, I'm at Luca's place you can come over, I'll send you the address,” I didn't want that woman in my house until I can prove she was either innocent or guilty.

But how do I stop her from coming here without Katherine being suspicious?

I'd have to let her come here but I wouldn't leave Katherine's side for even a second.

I have a feeling that if she's the villain she would be too scared to do anything while being watched.

She ended the call with her sister as she looked at me with a smile.

“ Hope you don't mind my sister coming over?" I do. But I didn't say that out loud.

" Of course not, she's your sister,” But you have to be careful of her.

I didn't want Katherine to be hurt, her sister was the only family she had left, she would be devastated if she found out about what the nurse said and I didn't want that.

“ No more calls until you're done eating," I said as I fed her the entire pancake and she ate everything without any interruptions this time.

“ Mr. Ford would be coming today," I said.

“ Really?" She asked happily with a smile on her face.

“ Yeah, and my Dad would also be coming too, I'm sure you've met him once,”

" Yeah, I was your maid back then and now I…”

" There's nothing for you to worry about, my dad is one of the nicest people you can ever know,” I said as I rubbed my thumb on her cheek.

She was worrying for nothing.

“ I pray he likes me," She said, already looking worried.

“ He's going to, don't worry my love," I said and she bit her lower lips.

" Okay,” She whispered.

“ Aren't you going to the office today?" She suddenly asked.

“ No, I'm all yours, I'll just work from home," I said.

“ Perfect, I'll send my sister the address," She said excitedly as she picked her phone.

I was really contemplating telling her about what the nurse said, what if her sister had a new trick up her sleeve, it was just confusing.
