Chapter 52

'We'll get you back, L/N. That's a promise!!' Is the through that goes through everyone's mind. Y/N's eyes remain emotionless. As if the Y/N they know is gone. But they know deep within her, Y/N is still there. And no matter what it'll take, they will try everything they can to get her back to being the Y/N they've grown to love. Because to them... Y/N is everything.

3rd P.O.V

The members of Raimon Eleven can only stares at Y/N in sadness. They don't know what happened to her, or why she seems to changed and didn't recognize any of them. The only thing they know is that they'll try every possible ways they could think of to turn Y/N back, as none of them believed that the Y/N they saw now is the real one.

"You've got to remember us! Everything we all went through together" Endou yelled out, pleadingly. But Y/N only stares at him with a cold gaze. "L/N... please!" He pleaded.

"Enough with this stupid nonsense. Are you going to accept our challenge?" Y/N said. Endou realize that it's no use to try and get her to remember through talks. He knew the only way to get her to remember is to show her the fun of soccer that they had all enjoyed together.

"Fine... we accept" Endou said. A smirk starts to form on Y/N's face. The boys' hearts tightens at the sight of her smirk. Her smirk looks sinister, it doesn't look like her usual soft and genuine smiles they've all grown to love. It's like she's a whole different person.

They all starts warming up, to prepare themselves for the game. Kidou turns his head to look at Y/N whose uniforms has changed into one of the Genesis's uniform. He clenched his hands into tight fists.

'I swear we will bring you back to your old self, L/N...' he thought. He turned to look at the others and knows they all think the same judging by the look on their faces. They'd do whatever it'll take to get Y/N to return to being the girl they had fallen for.

Gran and Y/N is the two tops standing in front of the others. The sound of whistle indicates the start of the game. Gran passes the ball to Y/N. She accepts the ball and starts dribbling towards the goal where Endou is standing.

"Wake up, L/N... please!!!" Endou yelled out. But Y/N didn't have a reaction. She jumps up and kicks the ball with a strong power, making it speeds straight towards Endou. He lift his hands, trying to stop the kick. But he failed to do so, as the ball seems to only get stronger. He gets thrown back, and the balls make it in. He lift his hand and stares at it.

"Her kick feels a lot stronger than before. And it's just a normal kick... not a hissatsu" he mumbled. He turned to look at Y/N who stares at him with a triumph smirk on her face. He clenches his hand into fists as he turn to look at Y/N, he's determined to stop the kick next time.

Y/N turns around and walks towards Gran, who lifts his hand. Y/N lift hers, giving him a high-five. "I'll bring you back to the old you, L/N!!" Endou yelled out. Y/N turns around to look at him.

For a split second, the usual light in her eyes returns. The light is gone as soon as it appears. But that alone brought hope in everyone's heart that they still have a chance to bring Y/N back.

The games continued, but it was one sided as Genesis completely took control of the game. Everyone is starting to get exhausted. The only thing they're able to do is to keep up the defense. Until the first half ended. They head back to the bench and collapsed on the ground. All of them are breathing heavily as they try to catch their breaths.

"Let's keep fighting with all of our might and bring back L/N to her old self!" Endou said. Everyone responded, expressing their agreements, because they too, want her back... no they needed her back.

They turn their heads, noticing Y/N who just stares at them. They send her a soft smile. She can see all the different emotions flashing in their eyes. She slowly lift her hand, placing it on her chest as she didn't know why her heart aches at the sight of the sadness reflecting on each of their faces.

Gran takes notices of this and turn to look at Y/N. He frowned when he notice the look of sadness in her eyes. He lift his hand, placing it on the side of her cheek and turn her to look at him.

"What is it?" He asked in a gentle voice. Right after he said that, the light in Y/N's eyes disappear as it went back to the cold gaze. She assured him that nothing's wrong. She turns around and walks back into the field, getting ready to play the second round.

'Guess deep down you're still the same caring girl, Y/N-Chan...' Gran thought to himself. He turn his head to look at the Raimon Eleven to see everyone staring at Y/N with a longing gaze. He clenched his hands into tight fists. 'I won't let any of you have her. It's been decided that she belongs with me. And I plan on keeping it that way' he thought to himself.

Fubuki decided he can't keep still and wanted to join the game. So he requested for the coach to let him into the field. She agrees and switched him up with Ichinose. But not even long into the game, he starts to realize that he's not ready. Which angers Gouenji because he knew that everyone needs to play their parts if they want to get Y/N back.

The last straw snaps when Fubuki failed to get the ball given to him. Gouenji walks up to the ball that rolled out of the field. He gives it a strong kick, sending the ball straight to Fubuki. Everyone gasps in shock at his action.

"I don't care if people make mistake in the game. But I can't forgive anyone if they don't even try to give an effort into the game. Can't you hear our voices? The sound of desperation... don't you love L/N too? This game is to get her back..." he said. Fubuki listens to him as he finally hears everyone's voice.

He snaps out of his daze when two people slides up to him, trying to get the ball from his possession. He's quick to react and jumps high. He closes his eyes.

'I understand what you mean now, Father. Being perfect is not having Atsuya's next to me. It is to play with all of the team...' he thought to himself. He open his eyes as he stares forward.

That's right you're not alone anymore, Aniki... he heard his brother's voice echoing in his head. He grabs his scarf and takes it off. He lands on the ground. A smile forms on his face.

"I'll get you back, L/N... by showing you the fun of soccer!" he yelled out, with pure determination in his tone. He turns around and heads towards the opponent's goal. He jumps kicks the ball. "Wolf Legend!!" He yelled out. His technique makes it in. He turn his head to look at Y/N who stares at him in shock.

Y/N P.O.V

"I've managed to earn a score... because everyone put their trusts in me, L/N. They have reopened my eyes to see the true soccer. How fun soccer is..." he said. I just stare at him, without saying anything. "Trust is what forms a bond. Remember what I said about a strong bond, L/N? That day when we ice skate together?" He said. My eyes widen at what he said. I place my hand on my head.

Flashback

I see myself performing a trick with Fubuki. I turn to look at the others as they stared at us in shock. I turn my head to look at Fubuki who smiles at me.

"Ice skating is not just good to feel the wind around you. It's also good to help you maintain good balance that would be useful during a soccer match. A figure skating trick done by a pair is good to create a bond between both sides" he said. His comment makes everyone eager to give it a try. My eyes widen at what he said. A good bond? Does that mean I'm starting to bond with him... with them?

End of Flashback

I lower my head, as tears starts to roll down my cheeks. I feel my knees weakens as I fall on them. I choke out a sob as I feel my chest tighten. I grit my teeth, as I clench my hands on the grass beneath me. I can't believe I let myself get taken over. I can't believe I let myself be so weak.
