A new day dawned, another shift in the lives of Nick, Judy, and Vol. The three were already at the ZPD, ready to receive their new assignments, sitting in their assigned places in the waiting room, prepared for what would lay ahead. Bogo didn't keep them waiting, appearing at the door as usual, carrying his folder with the assignments. Despite the urge some officers felt to celebrate his arrival, they restrained themselves given the situation; after all, it wouldn't be a good time until they apprehended the hippopotamus who was causing them more than a few headaches. Even so, their determination remained unwavering; they would arrest that criminal.

"I won't go into too much detail. Today we'll be focusing on extracting information about Gloria Clinton's whereabouts. To that end, I've assigned some of you to interrogate those who have had contact with her." The buffalo pulled out several papers. "Hopps, Wilde, Jimenez, you'll be taking care of some familiar faces. If there's any trouble, Rhinowitz, Andersen, and Krumpanski will be there to help." The foxes and the bunny nodded. "Wolford, you'll also be assigned an interrogation, Fangmeyer will be with you. The rest of you will be on patrol, except for Francine and Snarlov, as they have an ongoing investigation." All the other officers nodded.

After all the officers had gone through their assignments, they headed out of the room. Nick, Judy, and Vol started reading about who they were assigned to interrogate.

"So... I'm getting Brad Price, how exciting." Vol said sarcastically, already expecting a tough time with the boar.

"Good luck, mate, that one's tricky." Nick commented, somewhat surprised that that criminal wasn't assigned to him. He read his assigned name. "As for me, I'm getting Nguyen... I don't think he'll be much of a deal, luckily."

Judy chuckled softly. "That's luck, he seemed more than willing to cooperate against her." She also read her own and her eyes widened. "Bob Johnson?"

Nick shrugged. "After all, he's had a lot of contact with her. He might give us some information."

Vol glanced to the side. "I'd rather avoid him if possible..."

The bunny raised her head to look at the blue fox. "Do you still have what he tried to do to Ryan in your head?" Her partner nodded.

"You have to remember he was threatened. He took a desperate measure." Nick replied with sense.

"I know... but I still don't feel right about seeing him, even though we haven't spoken yet..." Vol now looked insecure, he couldn't hate his partner for trying something desperate, but the idea of Ryan going back to Gloria didn't sit well with him at all.

"Then you can talk about it later. He's off duty for now, so you can talk for a bit." Judy hurried to try and make peace.

The blue fox sighed. "I don't know, Judy, I don't know..." He stroked his arm lightly.

That's when Nick decided to lighten the mood. "The same old doubts, so familiar now, are the only thing that isn't unusual about you." He flashed one of his characteristic grins, which caught his partner's attention. "Now seriously, try talking to him. The few times I've seen him since the incident, he seemed upset. Give him a chance."

Vol glanced at them both and lowered his arms. "Okay, fine, I'll try. I think... he deserves a second chance." He offered a slight smile.

"That's better." Nick nodded, almost provocatively in his tone of voice. "Well, time to get down to business and interrogate them all."

And so, with the fox's decision made, they each went to a different interrogation room. Brad Price would wait for Vol, Nguyen for Nick, and Bob Johnson for Judy, for what was going to be an interesting day.
