Time passed. Days, weeks... and the situation was very calm in Zootopia. There were no major thefts or conspiracies, no crossfire, and no overly risky situations. These were easy times for the ZPD and its officers, with even Wolford returning to his position. His wound healed perfectly thanks also to the protein-rich diet, including fish in his food. He was physically tested, and the results were satisfactory. He could finally go at it again, something he so desperately wanted. It didn't take him a day to return as soon as he was officially discharged; the urge to move was too intense, even more so than the desire to deliver justice. His closest colleagues already knew he'd be discharged, although some didn't know he'd appear the next day. Grizzoli was his confidant; being wolves, they understood each other and got along as if they had lived together their entire lives. Only the white wolf knew his partner's intentions, but he was amused by what Wolford could do, so he decided to keep it a secret.

For their part, Judy, Nick, and Vol were assigned mid-afternoon patrol and night sobriety checks, so they took advantage of the free time most of the morning. In fact, they were outside, enjoying the first rays of sunlight, waking up with coffee in paw, and, as always, talking to each other. Vol wanted to see Ryan before going to work, since this time he'd be back too late to visit him, but that'd be later; for now, he'd enjoy the company.

"I'm surprised you haven't seen 'Robin Hood' yet, it's a historical film." Judy commented, looking at Vol.

"I didn't find the time to watch it before meeting you because of budget, and now I don't have much time to watch it." The embarrassed blue fox scratched the back of his head.

"Well, you have to watch it, bluey. It tells the story of one of my ancestors." Nick spoke with a somewhat knowing tone.

The bunny rolled her eyes. "You always say that, but you have no proof that he was your ancestor."

"Tschk, what more proof do you need? He's orange, he's a fox... More than enough!" Nick retorted.

Vol didn't believe him either. "Yeah, right... Unless you do a DNA test, I'll assume he's just like any other fox."

"Robin Hood was taller... And he didn't hurt the innocent either." Judy glanced at Nick, smiling as she tried to provoke him.

The fox crossed his arms. "I'm good too, you know. That's why you're with me." He was trying to return the provocation.

"Unfortunately..." He sighed, but his tone was joking. "I guess you're not so bad."

"Hmm." Nick turned his head, feigning offense. "If what you feel for me is love, what would become of me if you hated me?"

"Same deal... but no kisses or hugs." Judy mocked doing a raspberry with her tongue, to which Nick responded by sticking out his tongue and lowering his lower eyelid with his index finger.

"You two... are just adorable." Vol replied, but they both stopped to stare at him, which left him frozen in place.

They both crossed their arms, and Judy spoke. "You can share or learn things about our relationship, but don't call us adorable... especially not me." Still smiling, she wanted to make her point.

"But... you're my best friends, don't I have a pass to call you that?"

"Nope." They both answered in unison.

"How unfair!" Vol puffed out his cheeks, as if he were about to throw a tantrum, which made Nick and Judy laugh.

After all the talking, they decided to go to a restaurant they found that, according to Nick, had good quality food. Still, they would have to hurry, as Vol was running out of time to see Ryan. They were even faster than usual, wolfing down what was served to them, much to the delight of the chef who prepared everything. They left some compliments and, moreover, a good tip for the service they received, as they felt very comfortable in that environment.
