The walk that Vol was having was quite comfortable, there was barely a day of rain recently and the breeze was always pleasant, something he'd have to enjoy, since that temperature would possibly change in the near future. The cold was approaching slowly and, before they knew it, the coat would be knocking on their door because, even if they had fur to cover themselves, the temperature could be lower than they could bear... but that would be something for later, now only the present mattered.

The fox got inside a music-themed store and came out with a package in his paws and a smile adorning his face.

"He'll love it, I'm sure." He held it in his paws as if it were gold, nothing could be further from the truth. On a spiritual level, he felt that it was as valuable as that precious metal.

After walking for a while towards the hospital, he decided to stop in front of a store on the street that sold drinks, so he could have a fresh drink made from different fruits, known as fruit salad. While he waited, a taller mammal, hiding its head, appeared to ask. Vol gave him a sideways glance, but he could barely recognize it, only the elongated snout. The fox turned his head slightly, not erasing his smile.

"You're risking yourself a lot by coming alone." He commented.

The fox felt like he had heard that voice on some occasion. "Wait, I know your voice... Are you... Balto?"

The hooded mammal nodded slightly and even showed Vol his eyes, covering himself again. "I suppose you'll understand why I'm here."

"Clearly, you always have to protect me..." He sighed lightly. "It's not that I dislike company, but it's tiring that I cannot do anything completely alone."

The wolf felt sorry for him. "Well, let's say that today I'm not only because of the matter of your protection, I also want to accompany you, as a friend, to the hospital, but only to the entrance, then I have matters to attend to." He laughed after mentioning his plans.

"Okay, that will do. I just hope you find Gloria Clinton soon, so I can be free from her harassment." He picked up his drink and looked at it. "And enjoy these things even more..." He raised his gaze to the wolf. "I hope you understand."

Balto nodded, although he never had enemies or anyone who stalked him, he understood the need for occasional solitude. "I understand, I can tell you that we'll do our best to help, you're not the only one who is bothered by what that mammal has done." He also grabbed his drink and they began to walk. Despite the expressionless face of the wolf, a slight gesture of disgust was present at the memory of the criminal. "But let's talk about happier things better, what do you think?"

Vol smiled again. "Of course, it'll be good." He just received a notification on his phone. Noticing it, he checked it and it was a message from Wolford. With a smile, he looked at Balto again. "We can now start the journey, the patient has woken up."

"Perfect, let's go then." The wolf answered.

The conversations they had with each other, telling anecdotes and drinking what they ordered, made a pleasant walk to a building that many mammals didn't like, but anything to accompany a friend. No worries appeared on their paths and they arrived after a journey that seemed short to them, since they were entertained.

"Well, here's where my company ends." Balto said and nodded slightly. "Enjoy it, we'll see each other again."

"That's for sure, I hope it goes well for you too." Smiling, the fox waved his arm to say goodbye as he entered. As soon as Balto stopped seeing him, he left with a calm step.

Vol asked at the counter where his companion was. A skunk receptionist told him the room without any further questions, since he was already warned that "a blue fox with strange colors" would arrive. Vol only rolled his eyes, but he didn't dislike being defined in a very little or not at all offensive way. The receptionist looked a bit embarrassed after seeing the reaction, so she decided not to waste any more of his time. Even so, the skunk always put on her best face and tried to make the fox feel good.
