Poker. A game played by many, a game mainly used to gamble and a game of chance and strategy. Some say poker ruins our life, some say it makes it better. They say it ruins lives due to gambling additions, but is that really something you should blame on the game itself? Or is it something you should take responsibility for?

One thing I have learnt about the human race is they like to blame things on others, they love the feeling of not having to take responsibility. Drug addicts blame the suppliers, murderers blame the victims and those in debt blame the government.

But why is it done this way? Do humans simply find taking responsibility too difficult? Or is it more than that? Maybe the responsibility and guilt takes over so much that the only two options would be to get rid of that responsibility or to get rid of yourself. Most choose the first option, fearful of what comes after death, fearful of leaving those they love behind and simply fearful of losing the only thing that truly belonged to them. Their life.

But some are different. These people are seen as either hopeless or stronger. How people see them depends on the watcher, some see taking your own life as weak and moralless, whilst others see it as selfless and admirable.

I place down my hand, it being the highest one, giggling at everyone's groans.

"That's not fair! That's been the third time!" Liver complains, making me giggle even more.

I've always been good at card and board games due to childhood, all I needed was the game to be explained once and then I would easily get a hang of it. It was fun to see how everyone reacted at it.

"I can make it a fourth if you like" I smiled innocently.

"No!" I laughed at his reaction.

Instead of playing another round of poker we decided to get some drinks instead, seeing as I kicked all their asses at poker I decided to make up for it by buying the first round of drinks.

"Hi pretty lady~" I heard someone slur behind me, making me roll my eyes in response.

"Not interested" I stated and gave the bartender our orders.

"Aw come on don't be like that~" I felt two hands grip at my waist, instantly making me want to scrub my body clean, there was no way in hell I was gonna deal with this today.

"If you don't take your hands off me in the next 5 seconds I'll cut them off and shove them so far down your throat you'll see stars. Got it?" Like I said, I wasn't gonna deal with anything today.

"Whoa chill woman, I was just flirting" He abruptly took his dirty hands off my body, making me want to sigh in relief.

"Yeah well men like you need to start taking no for an answer. If a woman's not interested, or even if a man's not interested, that doesn't mean to continue it means to take the hint. No matter the circumstances." I was sick and tired of people thinking they could act more superior than others or force them into things. If it were up to me, those that thought that way would instantly get the death penalty.

"Damn feisty one aren't you" He laughed.

"I swear to god if you don't leave in the next-"

"She said to leave." I heard a voice state and the man instantly left.

Turning around I saw a guy with electric blue eyes, brunette hair and standing at a height of around 5'11 reaching 6'0. "Elliot" he stuck out his hand for me. "Allia" I shook it politely.

"It's a nice name, are you here with anyone Allia?" he seemed to be asking out of more concern than flirtatiousness which I was grateful for. Although as much as I was grateful, a feeling of anger seemed to rise within me. I hated how men only ever left when another seemed interested, why couldn't they just leave a woman alone out of respect. Truthfully all it showed was how horrible humanity was and how the world was anything but a sweet fairytale.

"Just some friends and two of my partners, how about yourself?" I asked, feeling at ease with him.

"No one really, I prefer to stick to myself" He smiled as he told me so. "So I suppose you should get back to your table, where are you sat anyway?" he asked and I nodded my head towards the table.

"Oh your with Gray vendetta and that group?" he asked and I looked at him surprised.

"you know them?" I asked

"Almost everyone here does, they have a, how do i put this.. reputation here" I was curious as to what reputation he meant, but I didn't want to push already seeing how nervous Elliot seemed to be to even mention something like that.

"Well it was nice meeting you Elliot" I smiled softly and he nodded before i took the drinks to the table.

"You ok princess?" Lye looked up at me, placing his hands on my waist and pulling me to him slightly.

"Mhm, sorry I took so long" I apologised and placed the drinks on the table for everyone.

"You don't have to apologise baby girl" he stated and pulled me into his lap, making me instantly wrap my arms around his neck.

I layed my head against his shoulder looking up at him, looking at the masterpiece of my boyfriend. He's so handsome, and he's mine, all mine.

"Yes sweetheart?" he asked with a chuckle, seeing me take in every feature of his perfection.

"Nothing, I'm just admiring what's mine that's all" I closed my eyes for a few moments, simply enjoying his presence.

"What an adorable romantic you are" he whispered in my ear and stroked my hair softly.

I knew the others were around us but it didn't seem to matter, they continued with everything not paying any attention to us, plus it seemed that they too were in their own little worlds.

"Elliot" I heard Creed state, seemed like it wasn't just Elliot that knew him but that they knew Elliot too.

"Would you like to have a drink with us?" Fern asked and I heard them all start a conversation. Something about bones, blood and parties or something along those lines. I couldn't tell much as I was already slipping into a peaceful slumber, feeling safe in Lye's arms and having Sadie be next to us.
