unrequited love

I don't know why exactly I love you.
Maybe it's the innocent eyes that stare at me from under the thick framed glasses?
Maybe it's the mischievous smile?
Maybe it's the lustrous black hair?
Maybe it's the glorious, muscular body?

Or maybe it's the way you listen to my constant chattering.
Maybe it's the way you gladly read out my poems.
Maybe it's the way you held the door open for me.
Maybe it's the way you laugh at my lame jokes.
Maybe it's the way you're always on my "team."

I don't know what it is,
but when I look into your black sapphire eyes,
I get lost in them.
And unknowingly, I look at you with all the love that I hold for you.
But somehow, the entire world seems to know what I feel for you
yet you are oblivious to the amount of love I hold for you within my fragile heart.

And so, every night, I find myself wishing for you to love me back the way I love you.
But everytime I see you with her,
I find you looking at her the way I want you to look at me.
