right girl, wrong time

In twilight's glow, a story told,
Of girl and boy, and dreams of old.
She met him with a hopeful heart,
But knew deep down, they were apart.

She met a boy, with eyes so bright,
But deep within, something wasn't right.
Her heart, true and clear,
Knew paths of love, devoid of fear.

He spoke of stars, of endless skies,
But never saw her hidden cries.
He held her close, but felt so far,
A moment's spark, not love's true star.

They walked through days and nights and more,
But love was less, not what she swore.
She learned the truth, so clear and bright,
Not every love is worth the fight.

Right girl, wrong time, they often say,
But sometimes hearts must walk away.
She found her strength, let go, and then,
Her heart was free to love again.
