the storm you left behind

You were a dark cloud,
A room with walls painted black,
Yet I loved you,
As you were,
Flawed, funny, even dull at times.

You threw your waves,
Crashing into me,
But I learned to accept them,
To find calm within your storm.

Soon, your chaos became my peace,
Your storm darkened my sky,
And still, I welcomed it.

Now that you’ve gone,
Somehow, your storm lingers,
The thunder still echoing,
In a heart you left behind.
