A Wedding Date
Briar's past
I stepped into my art room behind Roman and watched him stop for a second before going over to my makeshift college board I'd been working on for our wedding. On the top of the board, I had written our names and underneath our wedding date.
"May 16th 2024," Roman spoke casually until he realized what that was and he turned to me. "Is that our wedding date?" he asked.
"Yeah, if it works for you. I talked with management that does the scheduling for shows. May 16th is on a Thursday and Friday night SmackDown will be in Jacksonville, FL. I figured that way anyone from the show that wants to come won't have to worry about traveling very far. It's also enough time after WrestleMania for all the buzz to start dying down plus it'll be one year since I announced I was giving up my title in ironically Jacksonville. I don't know it just felt right," I told him.
"May 16th," Roman repeated thinking about it.
"Also, another reason was so the construction could be all done because I wanted to get married here, in the backyard," I said and pointed out the pictures hanging up. Most of which were my drawings.
"This is what I'm hoping the backyard looks like when everything is done and this drawing shows what I'd like our wedding to look like. Probably no surprise but I want our color scheme to be black and red, and these are the flowers I want to use," I said then pointed out some of the other details I had down. He stared and nodded his head listening carefully to my ideas. Once I was done, I stopped and looked at him. "Anyways this is what I have so far, of course I can be flexible, if you don't like something or want something to change its you're wedding to. I Just kind of finally envisioned my wedding dress then everything just seemed to tumble into place," I said rambling on.
"I don't see your dress design on the board here," he said so casually before looking at me. I smirked at him.
"Don't worry it's in a very safe place. No one gets to see it, well except for Cindy since she has to make it. So, what do you think Chief?" I asked.
"I think May 16th sounds like a great day to get married," he said taking my arm and pulling me to him.
"Awesome what do you think about everything else?" I asked.
"It's perfect, you've carefully thought about everything and I can't wait to see what else you come up with," he stated.
"So, you don't want to be involved in every detail of the wedding?" I asked.
"Please don't do that to me," he said like wedding planning was the same as going to the dentist.
"Alright I won't. I just don't want this to be a stressful thing, easy as possible, no drama we already got enough of that in our lives."
"Isn't that the truth," he said.
"I'll probably get your opinion on a few things here and there but I should be able to do the rest. There are a few things you're going to need to do yourself though," I said.
"What's that?"
"You'll have to figure out the suits, pick your groomsmen, and I'll need help with the guest list. You think the backyard is big enough for everyone?" I asked.
"I don't think it'll be a problem just depends on how deep into my family you want to go," he stated.
"Maybe we should work on guest list sooner rather then later incase we need to find a different location to have it. While you're traveling when you have some spare time on the bus can you start making a list of the family you want to come then a separate list of people from work you want to be there. I'll work on my list too of course the family portion of mine is easy, it's Linda," I said. Roman placed his hand on the top of my head and tilted it back so I was looking directly up to him.
