Unexpected

Jey and I stared at each other as it was clear we were both feeling the same sad upset emotions. I limped my way over to him and he pulled me into a hug once I reached him.

"I'm sorry. I never thought this is where the road would take us," I spoke in almost a whisper as I felt both of our emotions get caught in my throat. When I stepped back, I saw a version of Jey I didn't know and my heart truly hurt for him.

"Why is it that every time something major happens you retreat here?" I asked just trying a little bit to push away the black cloud that seemed to be hovering over us at the moment.

"I don't know, I guess this place just feels like the best place to figure things out at, somewhere to go to find some peace," he said. "And peace is what I'm looking for right now."

"Hey Briar! What's going on?" Zilla yelled from back around the corner, cutting out the quiet. I rolled my eyes and sighed.

"Peace maybe, quiet not so much," I replied.

"Who's all here?" he asked back.

"Come and see." He grabbed his bag and we made our way around the corner back to the front porch.

"Well, isn't this a surprise," Zilla commented when he saw Jey.

"Jacob's here too, you hanging out with these two Little Uce you should be careful, they are nothing but trouble," Jey stated with a bit of laughter in his tone. I saw a hint of the Jey I knew so well for a brief second and it was nice.

"Don't I know it," I stated.

"What's up Uce?" Jey said giving Zilla then Jacob a hug.

"Anyone else here?" Jey asked turning to look at me.

"Just Linda and Sergeant," I told him.

"You know what I mean," he said.

"No, but I'm expecting Roman to be home for vacation Monday evening," I told him and he nodded his head.

"I'll head back to San Fransico Monday morning," he assured.

"Jey," I breathed wishing he would just stay and the two of them can deal with their problems face to face.

"I don't want to talk about anything at the moment, I just want some time to my thoughts," he said stopping me from saying anything else.

"Alright, alright, your room is the same, get settled we'll talk later," I told him.

"Thanks, Little Uce," he said before nodding at his cousins then going inside as Jacob, Zilla, and I watched him go.

"His brother betrays him, he loses winning the title, and he quits WWE so he comes here?" Zilla asked.

"When Sami betrayed him and the rest of The Bloodline at Royal Rumble and he wasn't talking to anyone this is where he came for a week," I explained.

"Why here?"

"I don't know there's just something about this place that just makes you want to come back," I said.

"I guess that's true I was only supposed to be here a few weeks now it's been months. I am going to miss it here when I'm gone," Zilla said with a sadness.

"Theres a sense of peace here amongst the chaos of what we do. The step off the radar lets you clear your mind to figure out your next move," I said. "And your welcome to come back whenever you want to, even when I'm back on the road the house is always open for the family," I added looking to Zilla.
