Briar's Idea

After Christmas dinner we retreated to the living room to open gifts. I kept an eye on the clock because I was planning a facetime call with Jey in an hour and a half. Before we started Roman made an announcement and asked Paul if he'd be his best man for our wedding. Paul's eyes got a bit watery and surprised when he asked him.

"It would be my honor my Tribal Chief," he said and they hugged almost giving me a teary eye as well. Paul then looked to me.

"So that means I get to walk down the aisle with the Maid of Honor so that would be...," he trailed off at me and I smiled.

"That would be the lady sitting to your right," I said gesturing to Linda.

"Alright," Paul said and they high fived. "I should have known," he stated. I laughed then looked to Roman who was looking at me and nodded at him to go ahead. He then asked Solo and Jimmy to be two of his groomsmen. Which even Solo was excited about and they both accepted and once the hype from them settled down they turned to me.

"So, who do we get to be partnered with?" Solo asked.

"I haven't figured out the final pairs yet but my bridesmaids are Cindy, Jules, and Deb."

"Sweet I don't have to worry about some sank walking down with Jimmy, I can trust those girls," Naomi chimed in.

"Well, I know it's odd to have some older people be in my wedding party but honestly every one of them has been through a lot with me and even with me being out they've still been there for me. But Naomi I would like to ask if you would be a personal attendant for the bride?" I asked and it felt weird referring to myself as a bride. Naomi's face lit up and her grin was as big as ever.

"I'd love to, thank you so much for asking, whatever you need I'm there," she said throwing her arms around me.

"So, Uce Briar's got three bridesmaids and Solo and I are only two groomsmen who's the third one?" Jimmy asked. Roman and I looked at him it was actually something we'd been kind of arguing about. Roman thought about asking Rick to be a groomsman which if I added another bridesmaid, he could be but I personally only saw his groomsman as Paul, Solo, Jimmy, and Jey. He was being stubborn about asking Jey and I know in his heart it was the complete picture that he too wanted to see. I think he was afraid he burned that bridge too deep and Jey would say no, but I wasn't going to give up on the idea just yet. There was still plenty of time to ask him.

"Ummmm...it's something we are still discussing. There are a lot of guys in the family to choose from so it hasn't been decided yet," I said.

"We'll I'm available if you want me to be one?" Jacob chimed in.

"Thanks, I'll keep it in mind," Roman stated and there was a slight tension in the air.

"So, we get a bachelorette party?" Naomi asked and I panicked.

"No don't ask," I said but it was too late Linda perked up.

"Oh girl, it's going to be one that goes down in history, I've got so much planned. We'll talk later about it can't tell Briar everything."

"Linda a simple dinner would be fine we don't need to get crazy," I tried to reason with her again as we've had this conversation several times before but she was determined to go all out.

"Nonsense, you deserve to have some fun and not work, work, work, it's going to be great."

"And legal?" I asked.
