The Final Pieces
Between my house, the addition, and Linda's place we had over thirty people spend the night. A bunch of people crashed in the basement on air mattresses. I felt very content and happy with how everything turned out with the show I put on and if the occasion ever called for it, I'd do it again. Only one thing weighed heavy on my mind that Sunday morning and that was Jey and Roman. Everything else had worked its self out yesterday but Jey never said one word to Roman, Jimmy, Solo, or Paul.
I had gone back upstairs after breakfast to finish getting ready for the day when I got a notification of an incoming text message on my phone. I felt panic start to set in when I saw it was Jey letting me know he was heading to his rental car to leave. I flew out of the room, Sergeant yipping on my heels while I passed about ten Samoans asking me what was happening. I didn't respond my brain was trying to come up with a plan for when I got out to the driveway that was if I wasn't too late. I got out there and looked around it was like a full parking lot in my driveway. Finally, I spotted him at his car he'd just put his luggage in the backseat and was opening the driver's door.
"Jey!" I yelled and he stopped, turning around to lock eyes with me. I quickly maneuvered around the cars to him. "You weren't going to leave without saying good-bye, were you?" I asked slowing my pace as I reached him, breathing hard.
"I just figured you had a lot of other people to deal with I'd thought I'd sneak out," he said and I punched him in the shoulder. "Oww, Little Uce," he said rubbing his arm.
"You are one of my top most important people and never leave without saying good-bye, that would really upset me," I told him my brow furrowed but my eyes were sad at the thought that he was just going to disappear. He tugged me to him in a hug.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking," he said and I wrapped my arms around him. "But don't worry it won't be for long I'll see you next week for Royal Rumble. We're going to light that place up!" he stated hyped.
"Yeah, we are!" I agreed and I knew this was my moment to try not to fix everything but at least make one thing right. I stepped back from Jey and look at him with a serious face. "Can you wait right here for a minute please and I'll be right back," I said and he looked at me confused. "Please," I said again backing away.
"Alright, I'll be right here," he said and I turned running back to the house. A bunch of the guys were standing in the doorway including my father, Rikishi, and Sika.
"Where's Jimmy?" I asked.
"Down in the gym working out," Zilla said. I looked to my right at Solo.
"Solo, go down there and keep him down there at least the next fifteen minutes, whatever you have to do until I come down, please," I said to him. Solo didn't hesitate or ask questions just headed right back inside and down the stairs. I looked at the remaining guys as they looked at me.
"Where's Roman?" I asked.
"I just left him in his office," Sika told me and I moved passed them.
"Can we talk for a second?" Richard asked me.
"It's going to have to wait for a little bit, I'm kind of in the middle of a time sensitive issue," I said moving passed him, through the living room, and up the stairs. I didn't even stop to knock on Roman's door as I burst through the door trying to catch my breath as he looked up at me from his computer.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
"He's about to leave, you need to talk to him Chief."
"Who?" he asked confused.
