SmackDown 7/21/23 Part 1

A Year Together

Roman and I walked hand in hand around the arena as we had a specific destination in mind but we took our time. We talked casually about traveling around and different arena's we liked and one's we didn't prefer. We both agreed this arena for non-wrestling reasons was our favorite. We walked the halls of the concourse till we came to one specific entrance before entering it. The aisle emerged into the arena high above as we looked down at the crew still busy working making final preparations for SmackDown tomorrow.

Can you believe it's been one year this week that well technically we first met," I said turning to look up at Roman. "It feels odd, I feel like a very different person standing here then I did a year ago."

"It's been a crazy year to say the least, this just perhaps might be my favorite spot in any arena," he said. We looked down the aisle of chairs that we stopped next to and I saw the whole thing play out in my mind just like earlier in the parking garage.

"I can agree to that now, but back then I didn't think so. Put me in the middle of that ring alone and have the entire arena call me every name in the book and boo me out of the building that I can handle. Standing here in this exact spot watching you sit over there trying to find the courage to go talk to you, absolutely terrifying," I explained revealing the truth for the first time about that moment. Roman crossed his arms and smirked.

"Am I that terrifying, that unapproachable?"

"It wasn't that you were unapproachable or terrifying I think it was more so about me. I didn't think I was good enough to talk to you, hell I thought maybe I blacked out and misheard everyone saying that you wanted me to join The Bloodline. I thought maybe you'd laugh at me when I came over."

"I'd never laugh at you. I believed you were the right fit for The Bloodline, that I saw coming. What I didn't see coming was that you'd be the right fit for me," he explained and I smiled while my heart did a flip at those words.

"Right, if you would have told the me then that we'd be standing here today engaged I wouldn't have believed you," I replied and Roman stepped closer to me.

"I said it before but I believe it was fate, it was our destiny," he whispered down in my ear then stepped back. He moved down the aisle about halfway down the row to the same chair and sat down. He pulled out his phone and he now look just like he had that day, hair down blocking his face. I admired him a minute before I stepped down to the next row and started limping down through the chairs this time no nerves, no second guessing, and all the confidence that he's giving me through out the past year. I got to the chair below him pushed down the seat and sat backwards on the chair facing him resting my arms across the back of it, just like before. He glanced up at me with the same look.

"So, Tribal Chief, why should I want to join The Bloodline?" I questioned all cocky which was not what he was expecting but he didn't let it take him by surprise for long. He leaned forward in his seat peering close to my face.

"Because with The Bloodline I can give you everything you've ever wanted, everything you've ever dreamed of having," he said and I felt my heart tighten and go for a second flip.

"And so, you have," I answered back as we stared into each other's eyes. Roman leaned down more meeting my lips. He was all smiles when he pulled back.

"Not so scary anymore, is it?" he asked.

"Nah, if I could change anything over the last year, I'd change nothing."
