Tattoo part 2
"I did make one adjust," I said to Mike and I flipped my binder to the next page.
"I went back and forth on it and redrew it a dozen times," I explained. "Everything's the same I just changed a rose to a lantern with the barbed wire and vines going through it but it still shines brightly," I said.
"For Bray?"
"For Bray," I answered.
"I freehand a lot anyways I'll make it great for you."
"I know you will," I said.
While Mike worked on getting his station set up. I took my jacket off revealing my Bloodline tank top and took a seat in the chair. I tried to relax while I waited for Mike to finish getting situated but the camera was back on me and a question came.
"You're getting tattooed on the hand and this is your first tattoo I heard the hand is one if not the worst place to get a tattoo are your worried about the pain?" Joanna asked and I chuckled.
"I fight for a living if I was worried about pain, I wouldn't be doing the job I'm doing now. Pain is a part of life, it's a constant thing, whether it be physical or mental. Look at my face I had it slashed open during a match but I kept going. I broke three bones during a match and made sure I still ended that match my way. I see pain as something you just need to go through to get where you need to be and it only hurts as much as you let it hurt," I explained not adding on that I didn't always hate pain, sometimes I liked it.
"Amen," Mike said and I looked up to him.
"Let's get this stencil on and make sure the placements right, I'll mark the addition then we start."
"Sounds good," I said. A few minutes later everything was ready to go. Mike started up the gun and the buzzing sound filled the room. A shadow casted over me and Zilla bent down next to the chair and took my hand.
"It's more for me then you but if you do need it my hand is yours," he said.
"Thanks, Z," I smiled up at him and gave his hand a squeeze. We were starting with the shoulder and working our way down to the hand. I barely felt anything at first, but I assumed this was the easy part and the farther down my arm we went the worst it would get. They had set up a camera to do a time lapse and we all just hung around talking and let the time slip by. After four hours we took a break and my arm was halfway done.
"How's the pain?" Zilla asked as we waited for food to arrive.
"So far so good," I said. "I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's all done," I said as I was making it a point to not look at it that much until it was all done.
"From what I see so far, it's sick and I think the best is yet to come, I think the hand though painful is going to be the best part."
"For my first tattoo I kind of went big, didn't I?" I said to him and a big grin appeared on his face.
"You wouldn't be you if you didn't because you always have to take everything to the next level," he said and I shoved him but nodded my head as I thought about it.
"Taking things to the next level is something I learned from your Tribal Chief."
"Yeah, I guess that is something he knows a lot about. You pissed he couldn't be here for this big moment?"
"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed but the great thing about having the same job as your partner you both understand the others obligations to what they have to do. I hold no anger toward it but I do wish he was sitting here with me for this," I explained and watched Zilla think that over. We finished lunch and Mike got back to it. Joanna asked me some more questions but it was mostly just sitting around talking with each other. Time did go by fast and the closer Mike got to my hand I did feel the pain grow more and more but I showed no emotion that it did. It was around three pm and Mike was halfway through doing the wrist tattooing with the Tribal design that was going to be identical to the one on Roman's wrist. I briefly glanced down at it because I couldn't help it and it was weird seeing the same style of tattooing that's on all The Bloodline members and so many other family members then seeing it on me was a new experience. The pain had shot up once he got to the wrist I think before it was about a one or two on the wrist it's at least a five maybe even a six in some areas but I still didn't show it on my face. We took another break around five for dinner just after Mike finished the wrist.
