Chapter 35

Matt's POV

While we were eating dinner, I studied Lexi. There was something else, she just wasn't telling us. During the date, I looked down at Mari. She looked so pretty and peaceful. After awhile, she fell asleep. I turned the tv off and picked her up, bringing her to our room. She leaned into my shoulder and smiled. I guess she likes it when I carry her to bed. I gently places her down on the bed and laid down next to her. The next morning, Lexi got up before us and cooked breakfast. "To what do we owe the pleasure of the rare Lexi breakfast". "Well, it's Saturday, you guys cook for me all the time, and I was kinda going to make this a breakfast in bed type of thing". She was still perky, for some reason. "Lex. Is there something you aren't telling us". "No. Why would you think that".

Lexi's POV

I think Dad's on to me. He doesn't know it's a boy, but he has an idea. My date with Drew is tonight, and I can't be more nervous. Nervous about being alone with a boy, how I'm going to get out of the house without Dad knowing it's a date, and of course it being my first date. My phone buzzed while I was eating breakfast. I looked at it and saw that it was Drew.

Drew: you ready for our date
Me: yeah. Are we meeting somewhere
Drew: yeah. The typical movie date
Me: lol. No Jurassic world though.
Drew: don't worry. I've seen it too. We're seeing something else
Me: what time are we meeting
Drew: 7:30 at the theater near the Smosh Games office. You know where it is?
Me: yeah. I go there all the time. See you then.
I put my phone down and continued eating my bacon. "Who was that sweetie" Mom asked. "Kacey. She wanted to know if we could go to the movies tonight". "What time". "7:30". Mom and Dad looked at each other. "Yeah you can go sweetie". "Thanks Mom. We ready to go to the office". "Yeah. Go grab your stuff". I got up and went to go grab my backpack.

Time skip

I looked in the mirror on the back of my closet door. "It's just a movie Lexi. It's not dinner with the president". I was even more nervous than this morning. I looked at the clock. It read 7:15. I grabbed my purse and walked out into the living room. "Alright young lady. 9 o'clock. No later" Dad said. "Alright Daddy". I walked out the door and started walking down the stairs. Why can't we get an elevator? The cool night breeze was refreshing. The movie theater was only a couple blocks from my apartment, but I'm guessing it's a drive for Drew, because I saw his brother's car pull up and drop him off. "Hey Lexi". I looked in the car and saw Kara sitting in the front seat. She was wearing a ton of makeup and some revealing clothes. What was Zach turning her into. Drew and I walked into the theater and bought tickets for the new movie Inside Out(I have not seen this movie, so no spoilers! I decided to see Jurassic World a second time instead). I thought the movie was really cute. While we were waiting for Drew's ride, we started talking. "How long have you known Smosh Games" he asked. "My whole life. My parents are Mari and Sohinki remember". "Oh yeah. Marhinki. My brother shipped them for a while back when they were still single. He actually had a crush on your mom". I laughed. "How did he feel about her being in the hospital". "He was really sad about it. Then I heard him freak out when Lasercorn said that Sohinki was her girlfriend". I haven't watched the video, but I understood it. "Have you seen the video". "No. I guess I should though". A couple minutes later, Zach pulled up in his Prius. Before Drew got in the car, he lightly kissed my cheek. I looked down at my watch as they pulled away. 8:45. I had time, but I wanted to hurry. I started running. By the time I made it to the building, it was 8:55. I started running up the stairs and made it back with a minute to spare. I smoothed my hair out and walked in the house. "Hey baby girl. How was the movie" Dad asked. "It was cute. We went to see Inside Out".

David's POV

Kara came home after going on a date with her boyfriend. I don't like the boy she's dating. He seems like the kind of guy that would love her for a couple of months and ditch her like trash. I had a couple friends like that. "Dad. Come on. Zach's not that bad". "I know his type Kara. He'll say he loves you, he'll kiss you and cuddle you. Then he'll find another girl and you won't mean anything to him. He'll hear your name and won't care about the pain he caused you". "Why would you think that? Zach is the sweetest guy ever". "You're not going to be saying that a couple weeks from now". She then stomped up the stairs and up to her room.
