Matt's POV
Seeing Lexi curled up in her closet reminded me of my sister when she was little. The next morning, Lexi woke up and came out into the living room. She was all dressed and ready to go for school. "Is something wrong Lex" I asked. "I have a math test today, and I feel like I'm going to fail". "Sweetie. It's going to be ok. I heard you talking to Shayna last night. You should be fine" Mari said. I noticed that Lexi was wearing the locket Mari gave her. She only wears it if she's scared or nervous, so she must be one of those things. We dropped her off and went to the office. My phone went off while we were on our way. "Who is it" I asked. "It's Anthony. He said we don't have anything to record today". "What? Why. Do you want to call him". Mari nodded and he picked up. "Put it on speaker". She nodded again. "Hey Anthony. What's going on"I asked. "Huh. Why would you ask". I rolled my eyes. "You just sent a group text saying we don't have anything to record" Mari said. "Um. No I didn't. I haven't been on my phone all morning". In the background, I could hear Ian and Lizzie laughing. Mari rolled her eyes. "Did you prank us"? "Aww. What gave it away". "Your family was laughing super hard in the background". I heard Anthony yell at them in the background. "We'll see you at the office". Mari hung up and started laughing. "Well when you're accomplices are laughing in the background". I shook my head and kept driving. We finally reached the office and went up to our floor. "Did you guys get a text from Anthony" Josh asked. "Yes. It was a prank". "Oh. Because David left". Mari and I started laughing. "Call him. Tell him to come back". Josh nodded and called David. We have great friends.
Lexi's POV
I walked into the math room and sat down. The tests were passed out a couple minutes after the bell rang. It was easily 3 back-to-back pages long (no joke. That's sometimes how long the tests I take are). And of course, Mandi was having no problems what so ever, even though she wasn't paying attention and I was. I reached the part were I was having troubles and I froze. How did this work? After 5 minutes of my head in my hands, I just decided to guess. I finished my test a couple minutes before we were supposed to be done. I slid my fingers through my hair. The bell rang. I grabbed my backpack and walked out of the class. Shayna wasn't at school that day, so I just left. I reached the classroom, 2 minutes before the bell rang. I pulled out a sketch pad and some pencils. I like video games, but I am also a great artist. My parents don't even know about my drawings. They are mostly gaming characters, but I also draw some other things. Things that I don't want anyone knowing about. The bell rang, so I put it away. The teacher called me up to sing again, so I did. After school, Mandi caught up with me. "Hey girl". "Oh. Hey Mandi". "That math test today. Super hard right". I rolled my eyes. "Yeah". "So you want to come hang out today". "Sorry. I'm hanging out with Kacey and Maddi today. See you on Monday". Mom pulled up and I got in. "You ready for the sleepover" Mom asked. I nodded.
