Mari's POV
Friday finally came after what felt like a snail of a week. Because we had things to record, we came in really early. We finished at 10 o'clock and went out to breakfast. Because of the appointment, we had to bring Lexi to the office. We left the restaurant and 11, with an hour before we needed to be there. "Lex. When we get the results, we will love you no matter what. Ok". "Ok Mommy. I love you too". Matt picked her up and carried her to the car. While we were driving, Lexi fell asleep. Matt started to watch her from the passenger seat. I started to worry. Today, my worries may be revealed. I have hidden this from Matt for four years, and I really didn't want this to happen. I love Matt and Lexi, but some things are best kept secret. "Lexi Sohinki". The doctor called us into his office. The doctor took blood samples, and did all of the usual doctors appointment stuff. Then, Lexi's pediatrician came in. "Hey Lexi. How are you". Everyone says this everyday, whether it be our neighbors, the Smosh guys, Joan at the daycare, Everyone. And she always says the same thing. "Good". "Hi Mari. Hi Matt. How are you". "We're ok. Mari's been a little on edge". "That's the normal reaction that a parent would have. Now. Lets talk medical". I sat there, waiting for her to reveal the truth. "Now, we have reviewed Lexi's case. We have narrowed it down to one diagnosis. Your daughter has Arrhythmia (this is a heart condition where your heart speeds up and slows down rapidly; thank you to juliap870 for the suggestion)". A heart condition. Somehow I guessed it would be something like this. "How did she get that. She was healthy the day she was born" Matt asked. "Well the thing is, the doctor might have told you that to keep you from worrying. And she may have received it before birth". With this statement, Matt looked at me. "Did you know about this". "I looked down at my sandals. "You knew and you didn't tell me". He got really angry. "Like she said. I didn't want you to worry". "I would have been fine learning about this four years ago. Not now when we find out about her heart condition". "Matt please. I did it with the best intentions". When I said this, he stood up and walked out slamming the door behind him. I put my face in my hands and started sobbing.
