Mari's POV

I drove to the office and parked outside where Wes was standing. I got out of the car and walked over to him. "Hey. Why are we meeting out here". "Can you come with me". "Yeah. Just let me grab my stuff". A few minutes later, we were on our way to the hospital. "So. Can you tell me where we're going". I breathed in. "Ok. But be prepared. We're going to the hospital, but you have to find out why". When we parked the car, Matt came out to meet us. "Wait. Were's Lexi". We looked at him and he figured it out. Tears started to come down his face. I went over to him and gave him a hug, even though he towers over me. I started crying along with him. We walked into the hospital lobby and went up to the front desk. "Can we see Lexi Sohinki yet". "Um. No I'm sorry. The doctor should be out to see you soon". We went to go sit down because we couldn't stand any longer. "Who wants to call the guys" Matt asked. "I can" I said. I grabbed my phone and called David. "Hey Mari. Is Wes with you? He left without saying where he was going". "Could you put the phone on speaker and call the guys in. Everyone". "Yeah sure. Guys. It's Mari". After a minute of shuffling sounds, they were all on the phone with me. "Hey Mari. Where are you. You never came in this morning" Ian said. Tears started to come. I hate telling my friends things that I know will make me cry, whether it's personal, family related, or channel related. I tucked my legs up to my chest and started explaining everything. By the end, I thought I heard someone crying. "Is she ok? What happened" David asked. "We don't know. We brought her in and they took her away. We haven't heard anything since". I must have been really upset, because Matt started rubbing my back to calm me down. I leaned into him. "Guys I'm scared. I just lost my parents, I don't want to lose Lexi too". "We'll be there soon. We just have to finish recording. Ok" Josh said. "Ok. See you guys soon". I hung up and put the phone down. When I did, there were tears covering the screen. I then started sobbing. "Now I know how you felt 18 years ago" I said to Matt. "Mr. and Mrs. Sohinki". We stood up and walked over to the doctor. Wes wasn't family, so he stayed back. "What happened". "She had a really bad Arrhythmia attack. It stopped air from going into her lungs. She's not going to wake up for a while". More tears came. Both from me and Matt. "Ok a couple things. Can we see her". "Yes of course". "And, she has a dog that she loves very much. Can we bring her in". "Ah yes. Is it Lucky". I then remembered he was the same doctor we had 18 years ago. "No. He passed away when Lexi was 13. It's a different dog". "Well. We allow dogs all the time, so I don't see why not". "Thank you sir". He told us her room number. "I'll go get Rex if you want to go see her" Matt said. I nodded and called Wes over. We got into the elevator and rode up to the right floor. When we walked in, my little baby was surrounded by machines like a breathing tube, an IV, and a heart monitor. I ran over to her and started stroking her hair. Wes then came over and sat down next to me, grabbing Lexi's hand. I leaned onto his shoulder and he placed his head on mine.

Three months later

Matt's POV

I looked over at the still unconscious Lexi. Three months have gone by without any hope. We have stopped going into the office, only when we need to. The guys come by every now and then. Lexi's birthday passed a month ago and we celebrated without her happy face. Drew comes in every so often. We had to call the school to tell them Lexi wasn't going to be there for a while. Of course, that only lasted a month because summer vacation soon arrived. Our little baby didn't get to finish her sophomore year. Rex lays in the crook of her arm, curled up into a ball. Mari never leaves Lexi's side. Her nightmare came true again. All of Lexi's friends come in, including her newest friend Raven(I keep wanting to ask, how do you like Raven by the way? Bonus points to whoever can guess her origins). A lot of our subscribers think of Lexi all the time. She has basically become the daughter of Smosh Games. I know the other guys have kids, but Lexi has been most seen on the channel. "Matt". I look over at Mari. "Did we mess up". "What do you mean". "Was it wrong for us to have a kid". "Why would you think that". "Nothing goes our way. I almost wonder if it was a bad thing that Peter broke up with me. Then we wouldn't be here". "Mariko Takahashi. I don't know where you got this from, but I don't like it. If we hadn't gotten together, we wouldn't have given birth to the most beautiful girl in the world. We wouldn't have all these awesome memories. Yes we ran into some road blocks, but we got through them together. I love you and I wouldn't trade you for anyone else". I got up and walked over to her. She looked down at me. "I can't do it anymore". "Shh. We'll get through this together. "Mr and Mrs Sohinki". We looked over at the doorway. The doctor was standing there. We got up and walked over to him. "How is she doing". "She's doing better. She may even wake up by the end of the month". Mari jumped up and down. I didn't believe him. Last time I was given this information, Mari didn't wake up for another 2 weeks after the end of the month. Mari can get excited about it all she wants, but Lexi's not waking up anytime soon. As soon as the doctor left, I called David. "Hey Sohinki(remember, his friends refer to him by his last name)". "Hey David". "Any good news". "No. I mean, the doctor said she would wake up by the end of the month, but I remember he said that 18 years ago about Mari, and she didn't wake up for another two weeks after that". "I know how you feel. The guys and I are coming in later today. See you then". "See you later". I hung up and put the phone down. I slid my fingers through my hair. Why did this have to happen to us?

Three weeks later

Mari's POV

Lexi still hasn't woken up yet, which is upsetting me. The guys have stopped coming in, leaving us alone with her. I'm starting to miss her bright face, her cheerful laugh, our family gaming nights. Everything. Rex still sleeps next to her, like a loyal friend. I miss Lucky. He slept next to me when I was in the hospital. Matt also proposed to me here. I miss the old days. Before the Arrhythmia, before the drama, back when we could go into the office with Lexi, or we could go out without worrying if she would have another attack. This is the equivalent of me and Peter. Only this can't go away with the cops and knives. This would never go away. I started to cry again. Matt then came over and sat next to me. "I can't wait any longer. I miss her giggles, her smiles, her everything. I've given up". "I know. I almost did with you too. Then you woke up". We got up and started to walk out. "Mom. Dad. Where are you going". I whirled around. Lexi was awake, eyes barely open. I ran over to her. "My baby". She slowly reached her arms up and hugged me. Matt slowly walked over to us. Then, there was a knock on the door. I looked up and saw Drew standing there, bouquet of flowers in his hand. He ran over to her. "Lexi". They hugged and eventually kissed. Matt then had to break them apart. "Can we not tell the guys". I nodded. The doctor then came in. "Ah Lexi. You're awake". She nodded. "Let's take this out". They took the breathing tube out of her. I held her hand while they did. After a few days, the color returned to her face, her once pale cheeks now returning to their pink color. She complained about her hair being in the way, so I braided it for her. Rex licked Lexi until her tongue was dry. We celebrated her birthday the proper way, cake and everything. Lexi's friends came in a few times to say hi. It was good having her back.

Lexi's POV

When I woke up, the breathing tube was really weird. After a few days, Shayna, Kacey, Ellen, and Raven came in to see me. Raven even pulled her hood down. We were all shocked. She had really pale skin and short black hair with purple highlights. She came up and hugged me. I didn't want the guys to come in at all. I wanted to surprise them the next time I went into the office. After about a week in the hospital, I was allowed to go home. While I was gone, they finally put in an elevator, but only after a new person in the building who used a wheelchair complained about the stairs. Which is a good thing, because for the few months after I was released, I would need to carry oxygen around with me. Just in case. As soon as we got home, we pulled out the gaming controllers and played tons of video games. Online, console games, Minecraft, it never ended. My life changed dramatically. Apparently, my lungs crapped out, causing the attack. I didn't have cancer, so that was good. Drew texted me everyday, making up for my three month absence. I finished the school work I missed and aced my classes. I might be a little bit behind, but I will be able to go into junior year with my friends. I'm glad nothing bad happened. Mom and Dad wouldn't be able to live without me. I'm the glue that holds us together. While I was out, the fans sent me gifts, like you would get if you went to a convention. Fan art, letters, gifts, I got it all. In a couple of days, I go back to the office. I get to see the guys again. I'm expecting big freakouts. I missed the guys and I'm sure they did too. I felt like I was going to die while I was out. The light kept getting brighter, but I fought it. I had family, friends, fans, nothing would get in my way when it comes to living. We all have short lives in this world, and I wanted to live mine to the fullest. With mu family by my side.
