Matt's POV
I walked into the master bedroom, ready for bed. Mari must have been tired too, because she was in the room before I was. "Hey babe" I said. "Hey. Do you think she likes her new room". "Yeah. I think she does. I've been thinking". "About what". "Lexi has been doing really well since her last incident". "Yeah she has". "What do you think about enrolling her in public school". "Remember the last time we did that? She was teased for weeks because she wasn't like them. I don't want her to go through what I went through". I hugged her close. "Don't worry. We can talk to the school, we can make sure they understand what's up". "We can talk about this in the morning. It's been a long day. Goodnight Matt". "Goodnight Mari".
The next morning
The next morning, I woke up before Mari or Lexi. I quietly slipped out of the bed, neatly replacing the sheets, and leaving the room. As soon as I shut the door, Rex came running down the hall. "Shh. The girls are sleeping". I walked down the hall into the kitchen. "Let's make breakfast" I thought. I grabbed the pancake mix, the milk, and eggs. 20 minutes later, Mari came walking into the kitchen. "Morning Matt. To what do we owe the pleasure of pancakes on this fine day". "No reason. We haven't had a nice breakfast in a while". "Do we want to talk public school again". "Sure. Do you think we should do it". "I think we should. All of her friends go to public school. There's only one thing that could be a problem". "Besides bullying, what could that be". "We just brought her onto the channel. She can't go to school, and be able to be on the channel". "I didn't think about that. We might have to talk to the guys about it". "Don't forget Lexi. She gets a say in this too". "Ok. We can talk to Lexi about it too". Just as we finished talking, Lexi came walking down the hall. "Morning" she said sleepily. "Morning honey. Can we talk to you" Mari asked. Lexi walked over and sat on one of the barstools. "We were talking last night". She nodded, looking at us with her big eyes. Man, has she started to look like me. When she was little, we thought she was going to look like Mari. Now she's starting to look like me. Brown hair, brown eyes (just a guess. Correct me if I'm wrong). I mean, she still has Mari's eye shape, and her nose, but still. "What do you think about going to a public school". "That sounds like fun! Wait. What about Smosh Games". "We still need to talk to the guys about that. But you aren't opposed to the idea". "No. I'm excited! Then I can see my friends more often". "Alright. You go get dressed. We have to record a lot today". She ran back to her room, a huge smile on her face. "No running"! A few minutes later, she came back wearing a sun dress she got from my parents. An hour later we were driving to the office. David met us at the door. "Hey guys". "Hey David. We need to talk to the group". "Alright". We walked through the door, and all the guys were in there. "Hey guys. Can we talk". They stopped what they were doing and looked over at us. "Mari and I have been talking, and Lexi agrees with us. We want to enroll Lexi into public school". "Ok. So what" Josh asked. "What are we going to do about her being on the channel". "Oh". "How about this". We all look at David. "How about she be like Wes and Flitz were 15 years ago. She can be here every once and a while. And on days were she can be here all day, she can record with us". I looked over at the guys, who were all in agreement. I then looked over at my girls. Mari agreed and Lexi looked cool with it too. "Ok. We should probably tell the fans though". "I'm going to go into the other room. Is that ok Dad"? "Yeah sweetheart. See you in a few minutes. You have to film Maricraft". She left the room with her laptop bag swinging from her arm. "We're gonna miss her". "Wes. She's just going to school. Not to college across the country". He nodded, but I could tell he was going to be upset. She has been here since she was little, always sitting in my office, or Wes's, or Mari's. The other people in the building have gotten to know her, like she's one of them. I know they are going to miss her too.
A couple weeks later
Lexi's POV
I woke up, got dressed, and grabbed my new backpack from the hook on my door. I walked down the hall and saw my parents in the dining room. "Morning sweetie". "Morning Mom. Morning Dad". "You nervous"? I nodded. Mom came over to me. "Don't worry sweetheart. I have something for you". She pulled a necklace out of her pocket. I had seen her wearing it when I was little. "This is a locket I got from my parents when I was your age. It always comforted me when I was sad. I want you to have it". She came around behind me, I lifted my hair and she latched the clasp. "Thank you Mom". I hugged her and she hugged me back. Dad then came up and hugged me too. "Come on. We have to get going". I grabbed my backpack and my new Smosh sweatshirt and walked out to the car. 10 minutes later, Los Angeles Middle School appeared. I took a deep breath and got out of the car. "Love you Mom. Remember 3 o'clock. "Yep. Love you sweetie". "Love you. Love you Dad". "Love you Lex. See you after school". I watched the car drive away. "Lexi"! I turned around and saw Shayna and Kacey. "Hey guys"! "What are you doing here". "I go to school here now". They screamed and I screamed too. "Do you have your schedule"? I pulled out the piece of paper I received a couple days ago. "Omg. We have the same lunch. And the same Math" Shayna said. "Oh and you and I have biology together" Kacey said. "Cool". "Oh look. New girl". I looked over towards the voice. A blonde girl with all designer clothes stood with her group of friends. "Hi I'm Lexi". "Oh never mind. Not new girl. She's all over YouTube". She turned around and walked away. "Who was that". "Ugh. Mandi. Miss I have to have everything my way. Just ignore her". As I was walking into the school, I saw a familiar car. "Lexi"! I turned around and saw Kara. "Kara"! I ran and hugged her. "Hey Lexi". "Hey Uncle David. Have fun at the office". He waved and drove away. "You remember Kara, right". "Yeah! She sits with us at lunch". I looked at my schedule. "I have gym first. See you guys later". After gym, I was walking to biology, and I could hear whispering. I heard things along the lines of "look it's that one girl from Smosh" "Look it's Lexi from Smosh" and lots more. I walked into biology and tried to find Kacey. "Lexi. Over here". I turned towards the voice. "Hey Kace". "How was gym". "Not bad. We were doing gymnastics and I kicked everyone else's butts". Kacey laughed. "What else is new. I bet when you do softball, you'll kick their butts again". This time it was my turn to laugh. The bell rang and the teacher came in. "Now. We have a new student. Lexi come on up". I walked up, holding onto my locket. Again, I heard whispering. "Hi. I'm Lexi. You may know me from Smosh Games". I then heard whispers saying "that's why she looks familiar". "Thank you Lexi. I see you have found a friend. If you can behave, you can sit back there". The teacher, Mrs. Brown, seemed really nice. After biology, Kacey and I walked over to my locker. "Omg look. It's Drew". I looked over my left shoulder, and I saw a red haired boy that was a little taller than me. He had ocean blue eyes and pink lips; one's that looked like he had kissed many girls. I turned around and continued putting notebooks and folders into my locker. "He looks nice". "Nice. His brother is a well known bad boy. Most assume he is as well". I shook my head and closed my locker. "Whatever. Come on. Let's go to class". After going to American History and English, lunch finally came. I was able to find Shayna and Kacey pretty easily. I also found Kara in the hot lunch line. "Hey! Do you want to sit with us" Kacey asked. "Yeah sure". She looked like she had a depressed look on her face. Once we separated from Kacey and Shayna, I pulled Kara aside. "Are you ok". She then broke down and tears came. "No. My boyfriend broke up with me. And we've been together for 5 years". Sounds like my mom. Her former boyfriend, Peter, broke up with her after 5 years. Then she started dating my dad. "I'm really sorry". I pulled her into a hug. We walked back to the table we were sitting at. After lunch, I started walking with Shayna to math. Then, I bumped into Drew. I put my head down. "Sorry". I moved out of the way and let him pass. Next to me, Shayna started freaking out. We walked into the classroom just as the bell rang. "Ah, Miss Sohinki. Nice to meet you. Class, I believe you have meet Lexi. You can go sit next to Mandi". I went to the back of the room and sat down next to Mandi. Half way through class, Mandi leaned over to me. "I am miss popular. Don't think about taking that away from me". I rolled my eyes. "Whatever". After class, I met up with Shayna and Kacey. "Ugh. Worst class yet. I have to sit next to Mandi". "Come on. We have our last class together". We started walking towards the music rooms. "Why haven't I seen Maddi, Laura or Ellen yet". "Um, Laura and Ellen go to a different school, and Maddi got sick today". After class, I stood waiting for my mom and dad. "Hey Lexi". I turned around and saw Mandi. "We got off on the wrong foot. Hi. I'm Amanda. But most people call me Mandi". "I'm Alexis. But most people call me Lexi". "Nice to meet you Lexi. I hope we can be friends some day". Her car pulled up and she walked away, waving. I could tell she was fake. She didn't want to be friends. Then my parents car pulled up. "Hey Lex. How was your first day" my dad asked. "Great". I hopped into the car and shut the door. "That's good. What was good about it". "I kicked everyone elses butts in gym. We were doing gymnastics". Mom laughed. "That's my girl". We drove home, and my face was in a permanent smile the whole night.
