Chapter 23

Lexi's POV

While I was was getting ready for bed, my friends started a group chat.

Crazybird(Shayna): Best party ever! You're parents know how to party!
Coolchick(Kacey): yeah! Always have me over for your parties.
Smoshgamesdaughter: ok guys. Anything you didn't like?
Lauraworm(Laura): your room is kinda childish. Do you think you could redecorate?
Smoshgamesdaughter: maybe. I never wondered about it.
Gonebanannas(Ellen): you should though. I mean, you have the money
Maddigirl(Maddi): chat us when its done! We're gonna want to see it!
I laughed at my friend's silly messages. Mom opened the door and walked over to me. "What you doin sweetheart". "Chatting with my friends. They loved the party". "I'm glad. Ok sweetie. Time for bed". I turned my laptop off and closed the top. I slipped under my comforter. "Good night sweetie". "Night Mom". She turned off my light and I looked around my room. My friends had a point. My room has stayed the same since I was little. Same purple walls, same tree decal, same blankets, same everything. I decided the next morning that I would ask my parents if I could change up my room.

The next morning

I woke up and got dressed. I grabbed my laptop and my new case and went out to eat breakfast. "Morning Daddy. Morning Mom". "Morning baby. How did you sleep" Dad asked. "Good. Can I ask you guys a question". Mom looked up from her breakfast and Dad walked out with his coffee in his hand and one for Mom in the other. "Could we redo my room. And not a decor redo, I want to repaint the walls, new decor...". Mom looked at Dad and laughed. "It's funny you asked. Because that was going to be the other part of your birthday present". I jumped up and hugged them. They hugged me back. We finished getting ready and got in the car. I turned my laptop on and started doing my school work. I finished just as we reached the office. I put my computer back in the case and got out of the car. We walked into the building and rode the elevator up to the right floor. We suddenly stopped on the Gamebang floor. "Why are we here? We don't have to film any gamebangs today". Then, the lights turned on and balloons fell down from the ceiling. "SURPRISE"! The guys jumped out and surprised me. A banner hung.from the ceiling saying "Happy Birthday Lexi". "Thanks guys". I walked in and gave the guys a hug. We partied for about an hour, playing video games of course. After we finished, I got to open presents. Most of the things I got were Smosh Games stuff. The last two things were the most special. Wes.got me a Smosh sweatshirt with my name on it. And the whole group custom made me a set of headphones with my mom's name on one side, my dad's name on the other, and my full name (Alexis Sohinki) across the top. "Thank you guys! So much". I got up and hugged each one of them. "What about the bonus video" I asked. Then, Uncle David pointed and I saw a camera in each of the corners. "Ok guys thanks for watching". Dad had a remote in his hand and turned the cameras off. "Alright boys. And young ones of the boys. We have to get going". "Aww so soon" Ian and Anthony's daughter, Lizzie, said. "Yep. We have to go get paint for someone's room". The guys waved goodbye, while Kara and Lizzie came up and hugged me. Kara is a year older than me, while Lizzie is a year younger than me. We left the building, me having a huge smile on my face and a skip in my step. After sitting through traffic, we reached the paint store. "What color are you thinking about choosing" Mom asked. "Maybe a soft colored yellow. Like a sunset yellow". After looking through all of the possible shades of yellow, we finally found the shade I wanted. We got one and a half gallons and drove home. After sitting through even more traffic(glad I had my computer and Minecraft), we parked outside our apartment complex. I was faster than my parents, because I reached the door before them. I reached for my key and unlocked the door. As soon as I did, I was expecting Lucky to come running. When that didn't happen, I had a tear roll down my cheek. Rex then came running down the hall. I leaned down and she started licking my face. A minute later, Mom and Dad walk into the apartment. "Alright. Lets get to work". We asked our neighbors (yes the same ones from the first book) to look over Rex while we moved my furniture. We placed down some protective mats and started painting. After we finished painting the walls, Mom and Dad were ready for bed. "You gonna sleep on the couch". I nodded and grabbed my quilt. "Good night sweetie". Mom kissed me and walked down the hall to her and Dad's room. Dad walked me out to the living room, placed the blanket over me, kissed me goodnight, and walked down to his room.

A couple days later

After we finished recording, we drove home. Yesterday, we added two stripes, blue and green, to my walls. The paint had dried, and now it was time to put my furniture back. We moved my bed back to its original corner, across from my flat-screen. We moved my gaming cabinet back under the tv as well. I placed the desk under my window, while Mom and Dad moved my bookshelf near the closet. I don't have a dresser because I have so much room in the closet. I found the box of all my pictures and small items. I put a picture of me and my group of friends on my desk, right next to my laptop. On my bedside table, I put my lamp and my clock and finally, a picture of me, Mom, Dad, and Lucky back when I turned 10. When I looked at it, a tear rolled down my face. I found my birthday presents from the Smosh Games guys and put them in different places. I put my sweatshirt on one of the bed posts. I put some of the Smosh pillows on my bed, and a few on my window seat. I put the Starbucks gift card with my other one. And finally, I carefully put my new headphones on the desk next to my laptop. "You want to Skype your friends" Dad asked. "Yeah. They were really excited to see my new room". They left, closing the door behind them. A couple minutes later, I had Kacey, Shayna, Ellen, and Maddi on Skype. "Hey guys!". "Hey! Like the color" Maddi said. "Thanks! Its part of my new room. Want a tour". They nodded and I picked the laptop up. After giving them a full tour, They said they wanted to come over to see it in person. I agreed, and after Dad knocked on the door to signal bedtime. "Alright guys. I have to go. Talk to you tomorrow". I hung up and turned the computer off. I slipped under my comforter and fell asleep in my new redecorated room.
