Chapter 30

Lexi's POV

I grabbed some pillows and some blankets and set them up in my room. I also set up my quilt and pillows on the floor next to the others. Looking through my family's vast gaming collection, I picked some out some games for me and my friends to play, as well as enough controllers for each of us. I picked out some leggings, my converse shoes and my tri-force t-shirt, only because I wore a dress and I didn't want to wear it out. My phone went off an hour later while I was playing Call of Duty in my room.

Shayna: you ready to hit the town?
Me: heck yeah lets do this
Maddi: alright. Meet you guys at Starbucks?
Me: yeah. I still have money on my giftcards.
Shayna: why do you have more than one? You only got one for your birthday
Me: the Smosh guys had a separate party and I got one there
Maddi: oh ok. See you guys there
I put my phone in my messenger bag, as well as my wallet, gift cards and tablet. I told my parents that I was going out with my friends. "Ok but be back by nine" Mom exclaimed. I rolled my eyes and walked out the door. My friends and I always meet at the Starbucks near my apartment, because its close enough that we can all walk there and still be near our houses. I met up with Shayna first. We walked in, immediately getting greeted. We go here so much that the workers know our names and what we order. We don't even have to walk up to the counter. Maddi came in a couple minutes later. We went to our special table and I pulled my tablet out. "Ok so girls night out. No parents. What are we going to do" Maddi asked. "The movies is just a block away". "Um yes! Jurassic World all the way" Shayna exclaimed. We all high fived each other. "What else". "The mall is really close too". I contemplated this. "I still have birthday money. Plus there's some new games that I want". "Don't forget. Forever 21". We laughed, finished our drinks and left for the mall. While we were walking through the mall, the boy topic came up. "Ok so. Who are you crushing on" Shayna asked. I then broke into a sweat. I'm crushing on Drew, but I haven't told anyone. "No one you know me".

Mari's POV

I walked into Lexi's room, checking to see if everything is perfect. While I was looking around her room, I noticed something poking out of her bookshelf. I walked over, avoiding the blankets and pillows on the ground. I pulled it out and saw that it was a sketch pad. While I was flipping through it, I noticed some things. "Matt. Can I show you something" I said as I walked into the living room. "What's that". "I found it in Lexi's room. It's a sketch pad". Matt started flipping through it. "Where did you find it". "It was wedged in the bookshelf". He reached the part with the drawings that I was worried about. "What's this".

Lexi's POV

After we came out of the movie, we were freaking out(don't worry! No spoilers!). "That was so cool". "I know. So worth the wait". We started to walk back home. "This was cool. We should totally do this again" Maddi exclaimed. "The night's not over! Come on let's go back to my place". The apartment showed up a couple minutes later. So glad we didn't move. We climbed the stairs up to my apartment. I unlocked the door and walked in with my friends. "Lexi. Can we talk to you" Mom called. "You guys go set up. I'll be there in a few minutes". I walked into the living room and saw my mom and dad sitting on the couch. Mom had my sketch pad in her lap. "Why do you have that. Where did you get it" I asked. "I found it in your room". "What? Why were you in my room". "Checking things". I rolled my eyes. "Why do you care about what I draw". "We care about you Lex". I grabbed the sketch pad and walked back to my room. "If you cared about me, you wouldn't be going through my stuff" I mumbled. "Hey girl. We ready to get the party started". I nodded and hid the pad behind my back. I quickly slipped towards my desk and hid it under my notebooks. Maddi and Shayna had already grabbed the controllers I set out and started playing. I grabbed the other controller and played with them. After 2 hours of video games, we put the controllers down and slid under the blankets. "Man. You're parents gave the most comfortable blankets in all of Los Angeles". I laughed and slid under my own blankets. I began thinking. Why would my parents be looking through my stuff. I don't go through theirs. I sighed. We had started to feel drowsy, so we laid our heads down and went to sleep.
