Mari's POV

I watched as my now 16 year old high schooler walked down the hall to her room. Man I feel old(I did the math. Mari would be 47 and Matt would be 43). Matt wrapped his arm around me and pulled me close. "They grow up so fast". "It seems like yesterday we took her into the doctor and learned about her Arrhythmia". "I know. She was so cute back then". I looked back at the last three years. Lexi has grown up so much. Matt finally got over her having a boyfriend. Matt and I thought of having another kid, but then quickly decided not to. I slipped out of Matt's grasp and got up off the couch. "You ready for bed". He sighed and got up too. "Yeah. We've got a busy day tomorrow". We walked down the hall together, his arm around my shoulder. We joked and giggled the whole way down the hall. I opened Lexi's door. She was snuggled up next to Rex, a now three year old dog. I sighed and closed the door. We walked into our room and over to our bed. Matt laid down first while I plugged our phones in. I then got into bed next to him. He put his arm around me and pulled me close. "I love you Mari". "I love you more Matt". "I love you times infinity". We then fell asleep.

The next morning

Matt's POV

I woke up and got out of bed, gently making my side of the bed so I didn't wake up Mari. She was smiling, so she must have been dreaming. Lexi was still sleeping as well. Rex was scratching at the door, so I let her out. She tried to tug me into Lexi's room, but I refused because I didn't want to wake her up. I closed her door and walked out into the kitchen to make my family breakfast. 10 minutes later, Mari came up from behind me and gave me a hug. "Morning sweetheart". "Morning Matt. Lexi still sleeping". I nodded and turned around. I brushed a piece of hair off of her face. She stood on her tip toes and kissed me. We giggled like we did when we were still young. Man being 40 sucks. Rex ran down the hall and started scratching at Lexi's door again. "What's wrong" Mari asked. "I don't know. She was like that when I woke up this morning". "I'll go check". She walked down the hall and into Lexi's room. A minute later, I heard Mari scream. I ran down the hall and into Lexi's room. "She's not breathing". I ran into my room, threw on some jeans and grabbed a pair of jeans for Mari. She then came out with Lexi in her arms. We ran out to the car and rushed to the hospital. As soon as we got there, I picked Lexi up, who wasn't that big, and ran into the hospital. I yelled for help and doctors came running out to help. They took her away and I went back out to Mari, who was changing into her jeans. When she looked up, she had tears coming down. She ran over to me and into my open arms. I started crying too.

Mari's POV (Yes again. Deal with it!)

We walked into the hospital and up to the receptionist. "Our daughter was just taken away". "Yes fill this out for us". While Matt filled out the forms, I called Wes knowing he would like to be the first to know. "Hey Mari. Where are you guys? We still have to record". I looked over at Matt. "I'll be there in a few minutes. Matt's busy. Can you come meet me outside the building". "Yeah sure". I hung up and told Matt were I was going. He nodded, tears still coming down. His face. I walked out and got into the car. I slammed my hands on the steering wheel. I knew life was a little too perfect.
