Chapter 36

Two weeks later

David's POV

Kara came running in the house, her mascara running down her face. "What's wrong sweetie" I asked. "You were right. Zach didn't love me. I just saw him kissing another girl". I held my arms out and she ran into them. "Shh. It's ok. Daddy's here". "What's wrong honey". I looked up and saw Brina standing there. "Boy drama". She nodded. "Kara sweetie. Come here". Kara got up and walked into my wife's arms. She gently stroked Kara's hair. "There's other boys sweetie. Do you want to know how many guys I had to go through before I found your dad". "How many". "Too many to count". Kara laughed. "Go get ready for bed sweetie". She started walking up the stairs. "He wasn't good enough for you anyway Kara" I yelled.

Lexi's POV

I looked at my phone and saw it was Drew texting me.

Drew: hey Lex.
Me: hey.
Drew: when are you going to tell your parents about us.
Me: in a couple minutes. Two weeks is a long time.
Drew: your parents kept it a secret from Smosh for like 6 months and kept it from the fans for like 7.
Me: very true.
Drew: have you watched the video yet.
Me: you mean that one we were. talking about on our first date? Ugh. Two weeks and I haven't yet.
Drew: lol. Don't worry take your time.
I laughed and put my phone down. I put my book down as well and went out into the living room. "Mom. Dad. Can I tell you something". "What's up Lex". "Well. You know a couple weeks ago when I went to the movies with Kacey". "Yeah". "I was actually on a date. With a boy". I looked down at my shoes while they thought about what I told them. "Lexi. This is great" Mom exclaimed. She stood up and hugged me. I looked over at my dad. "Who is this boy". "My friend Drew". "Drew as in Kara's boyfriend's brother Drew". "Actually, she caught him cheating, so they're no longer a couple. And yes. Zach's brother Drew". "Is he a trouble maker too". "No Dad. He's the complete opposite". "Matt lay off of her. It's her first boyfriend". "Well I don't want her hurt like some of my friends. Or you". "Matt I made the wrong decisions. I thought Peter was a nice guy. And if it hadn't been for him, we wouldn't have gotten together. I'm proud of you Lexi". She hugged me again and went back to her book. "Dad. Don't ignore me". "I'm not ignoring you Lex. I just don't want you to be hurt". I walked over to him and sat down on the arm rest. "Don't worry Daddy. You can beat him with a hose if he hurts me". Mom laughed. "That's exactly what I said to my dad the first time I got a boyfriend". "Alright. It's almost 10. You should probably start getting ready for bed". I walked down the hall towards my room. As soon as I shut the door, Drew texted me.

Drew: did you tell them
Me: yeah.
Drew: how did they take it
Me: mom was ecstatic, and dad was like a typical dad. Just so you know, I gave my dad permission to beat you with a hose if you hurt me
Drew: lol
I plugged my phone in and changed into my pajamas. Then I remembered the video. I grabbed my laptop and went onto Youtube. I scrolled through the bonus videos and found it. "Answering your questions". After sitting through 5 minutes of lame questions, some of the bigger questions came up. "Are Ian and Anthony a thing because I was at a restaurant amd saw them kissing". I laughed. Then it got to the part where Uncle David was talking about Mom and Dad. "Yes all you Marhinki shippers, they are a thing". Marhinki. Whoever came up with that name knew what they were doing. At the end of the speech, I was crying. I knew Mom and Dad loved each other, I didn't know that Dad would put his Youtube career on hold for her. Rex then came up and licked my tears away. I wrapped my arm around her. I looked at my clock and noticed it was almost 11. I turned the computer off and put it back on my desk. Rex laid on the bed, waiting for me to crawl under the covers. When I did, she laid down in between me and the wall. I put my arm around her and fell asleep immediately.
