"Hm," Rosa said, smelling Lara. "You smell different."
"What?" she asked, as she let the girl into her apartment.
"You smell different." Rosa repeated, smelling her again.
"Good or bad?" she asked.
"No, it's nice." Rosa said. "It's just ... different, that's it. I don't know, it smells like not you."
"Okay." Lara said, sending Rosa a look as she sat down on her sofa. "That was really weird."
"It smells almost familiar." Rosa carried on, looking at her best friend as she sat down next to her. "I could swear one of the guys was wearing that perfume yesterday."
No way. She had washed herself, and her hair as well. There was no way, Rosa must have a superhuman nose or something.
"I think you're imagining stuff again, Rosa." Lara said, looking away from Rosa, pulling her legs up to her chest.
"Can you just tell me you and Ferran hooked up and take me out of this misery?" Rosa whined as Lara turned to her.
"What?"
"Oh, come on. I might have slightly less experience but I'm not stupid." Rosa said, rolling her eyes at her best friend. "I heard his laugh through the phone this morning. And you were fine last night, nothing was wrong with you and I could tell. And then you left together and that smile he gave you, that was not innocent."
"You're not telling anyone about this, Rosa." Lara said and Rosa gasped.
"Actually?" she asked and Lara looked at her confused. "You two actually hooked up? I was just guessing it, I didn't know if you actually did. I had my suspicions but you just confirmed them."
"God, Rosa." she said, lowering her head. "No one can know, you understand me?"
"Was it fire?" she asked, interested.
"Rosa." Lara said, taking her hands. "No one can know. You understand what I'm saying? He's not just a random guy, this is Ferran Torres we're talking about and if anyone finds out then rumours will start and I'm so done with rumours. There's already new ones that me and Pedro are dating again."
"Don't worry." Rosa said. "It's safe with me. I won't say."
"Pretend you don't know, okay?" she said and Rosa nodded before smirking.
"But, tell me, was it fire?" she asked quietly and Lara laughed.
"That's for me to know."
"Oh, come on." Rosa complained. "Just say. Blink if it was good."
She blinked twice and Rosa's jaw dropped. "Oh shit, that good?"
"I'm just joking." Lara laughed. "It was good."
"No way it was just 'good', this is Ferran Torres we're talking about." Rosa said.
"Okay, enough." Lara said. "We're changing topic. My older sister is coming to Barcelona in two days."
"Oh fuck." Rosa sucked in air, whistling. "Is she staying here?"
"What, so that she can kill me?" Lara said. "Absolutely not. She's staying with Matías."
"Can she even still speak Spanish?" Rosa asked. "Or is it all English now?"
"Who knows with that woman?" Lara said, sighing. "I don't know if I want to see her but she's coming with her British boyfriend and we're having dinner at this restaurant on Friday. I really don't want to go but Matías is making me. She's only staying three days and then they're going to Tenerife to our parents."
