JUNE 2019

"Where are we going?" I ask as Pedri takes my hand in his and drags us away from the dance floor at the school disco for the end of the school year.

"You'll see." He smiles back at me.

He drags me through the crowd of people, weaving in between everyone. We reach the exit of our school hall where the dance is held every year and I turn around to see Rosa smirking at me as she elbows one of our other friends and points at me and Pedri. I roll my eyes and look forward again as Pedri holds the door open for me.

"Thanks." I smile and he smiles back.

"Did I say you look really beautiful today?" He asks as we walk towards the exit of the school.

I smile as I feel a slight blush rise to my cheeks. "You didn't, thank you."

"Well, I'm saying it now." He smiles at me. "You were the prettiest in there."

"Thank you." I say, feeling more warmth rise to my cheeks. "You look really good too."

He grins cheekily as he sees my blush and I roll my eyes, pushing him away slightly. "Don't say anything."

"I find it really cute I make you get so shy." He says.

I shake my head, sighing as we leave the school. The good thing about this dance is that you can leave and come back whenever you want. So eventhough there are teachers at the exit of the school they're just there for safety reasons. I smile at our history teacher who smiles when he sees us and turn to Pedri as he starts saying something to me.

"They play really shit music at these types of things." He says and I chuckle.

"Well, wouldn't you like to be the DJ?" I ask and he turns to me, grinning.

"Would do a hell load of a better job than them." He says and we laugh.

I don't know where he's taking me but I follow him as we go down a path, talking to each other whilst we're at it.

There's no denying I like him. I'd say it's pretty obvious. We're not just friends but not dating either. Kind of that middle ground when you're neither.

He finally stops and I can't help my lips from parting when I see the view in front of me paired with the setting sun. "Oh, woah."

"Pretty, no?" He asks as he sits down on the grass and pats the spot next to him as I do the same. In front of us, the land dips but not steeply, there's no going up this 'hill' but there's a going down.

"It's beautiful." I say, moving my hair back behind my shoulders and turning when I see him looking at me. "What?" I ask when I see him smiling.

"Nothing." He says, shaking his head but that smile not dropping.

I send him a questioning look but he just smiles again and looks back at the sun. I let out a deep breath that I didn't even know I was holding in and move closer to him. He puts his hand around my waist and I lean my head on his shoulder.
