She looked at the dress she had on, it was definitely nice and it helped that she made it herself as well.
She drove to the restaurant Matías with their older sister and her boyfriend decided to meet her. The two only arrived this morning so she hadn't had a chance to see them yet.
Not that she wanted to.
Her older sister treated her like shit for a long time. Always rude and nasty. She knew exactly how to make Lara's blood boil and took advantage of it to the max. No one annoyed and angered Lara quite as much as her own sister. Which is not how it should be.
She parked the car and mentally prepared herself for the next minimum one and a half hours of her older sister bragging, making fun of her, being rude to her. The whole lot.
She got out of the car and entered the restaurant, definitely one of the nicer ones in Barcelona. The lady took her name and then took her to the table. She could see the girl from miles away, an unsettling air around her. At least to her it seemed so.
"Hey." Lara said, taking a seat after thanking the lady.
"Look who's arrived." Alicia said and carried on in English. "This is Aaron, my boyfriend."
"Hi, I'm Lara." she said, a slight Spanish accent clinging onto her English words. "Nice to meet you."
The guy next to Alicia smiled, kissing her hand. "Nice to meet you too, Alicia's told me a lot about you."
"Oh." Lara said, turning to look at her sister, who just smiled too sweetly for Lara's own liking at her.
"All good things of course." he said, seeing the younger girl's face.
"Like?" she asked.
"Apparently you're a really good fashion designer?"
Lara almost burst into laughter. No way that Alicia, the girl who was the one who almost made her quit pursuing her dream, the one who told her every day she wouldn't make it and she was extremely bad was now saying this stuff about her.
"If she said it then it must be true then." Lara shrugged.
"You made the dress?" Alicia asked and Lara nodded. "It's really nice, I like it."
She was actually being nice. Shocker.
"I wouldn't wear it though." she added in Spanish as Lara sighed, leaning back in her chair.
Thought too fast.
"Shut up, Alicia." Matías said in Spanish, sending his sister a look.
"Well, be glad that I'm not making you wear it then." Lara said in Spanish.
"I'm just saying." Alicia said in Spanish before continuing in English, looking at her younger sister. "You're back with that footballer?"
"What?" Lara asked.
"What was his name?" Alicia said, clicking her fingers.
"Pedri?" Matías said and she pointed at him.
"Pedri." she said, remembering. "That was his name. Apparently you two were seen in some club together with his teammates or something."
"You're with Pedri?" Aaron asked. "He's a sick player. Apart from the injuries, he's insanely good."
"I'm not with him." Lara said. "We're just friends again."
"Right." Alicia said in Spanish.
"Leave it, Alicia." Matías said in Spanish before turning to Aaron and continuing in English. "What do you work as?"
