A two hour flight with a three month old wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. He was sleeping most of the time anyway.
We had a driver take us to the hotel and I couldn't help but raise my eyebrows at the grandness of the hotel. It was designed beautifully and when we walked into the reception I swear I almost gasped as I looked up at the high ceilings and the intricate designs all around me on the walls and ceilings.
I pulled mine and Mikky's suitcases behind me, seeing she was struggling to hold Miles and pull her suitcase. We walk up to the reception and a woman greets us with a smile.
"Good afternoon." she says in English. "Do you two have reservations?"
"You go first." I say and Mikky nods.
"What's your name, miss?" the woman asks.
"Mikkey Kiemeney." she said and after she had spelt it out for the lady, we hear clicks.
"Okay, perfect," she smiled as she got up from her chair and walked to a cabinet. She opened a drawer and took out a keycard. "This is your keycard, that's room 73. Mr De Jong isn't in his room at the moment. Some of the team went for an early lunch, but they should be back soon."
Mikkey smiled at the woman, taking the keycard from her. "Thank you."
The woman turned to me and smiled. "What's your name, miss?"
"Lara Valente." I say and she nods, typing in my name.
She nodded as she got up and went back to the same cabinet. "This one is yours, that's room 76. Mr González is in the room in case you were wondering." she said as I nodded, smiling. "Enjoy your stay."
Me and Mikkey go to elevators and press the seventh floor button. Luckily, our rooms were on the same floor so I could help her with her stuff and Miles, who was still sleeping.
"He's so calm." I say as she opens her door with the keycard.
"I'm not sure what's gotten into him today." she says as we walk in.
What an insane room.
I look at the massive windows and my lips part at the view of the city. Is this how nice all of the hotels they stay at are?
"He's not usually this calm, especially not on flights, maybe it's your presence." she jokes and I laugh. "What a nice room."
"Nice is an understatement." I say and she laughs. I place her suitcase next to, what I assume, is Frenkie's one and turn to her. "You'll be okay?"
"Yeah," she says, sitting down on the bed with Miles in her arms. "Frenkie will be back soon. You were a massive help, Lara. Thank you so much."
"It was nothing." I hug her and she smiles at me widely.
"It was way more than nothing. Now go before Pedri starts crying after you."
I laugh at her joke. "He saw me this morning, he should be fine. Text me when you want to go down for lunch, yeah?"
She nods and I kiss her cheek and say bye to Miles as well before taking my suitcase and leaving her room. I go further down the hallway and see mine and Pedri's room. The little light on the keycard scanning device is red compared to the green that it was when Mikkey scanned hers.
