"Lara." I hear Pedri whisper as he shakes me awake. "Wake up, amor."
I open my eyes and rub them. It's still dark, why on earth is he waking me up?
"What?" I whisper back.
"Get up." he says.
"It's dark, why?" I ask.
"Just trust me, get up." he says as he gets up from the bed himself.
"What time is it?" I ask.
"Almost five am." he says.
"Why are you waking me up so early?" I ask as I get out of bed and he passes me one of his hoodies.
"Go get changed." he says and I sigh, going into my closet and changing into the hoodie. I also change from my pyjama shorts to trousers.
"You're ready?" he asks me as I come out of the closet.
"Yeah." I nod. He takes my hand and leads me out of the bedroom. But he doesn't stop there, he grabs his car keys and leads us out of my apartment altogether.
"It's five am, where on earth are you taking me?" I ask for what seems like the hundreth time.
"Just trust me, Lari." he says as we enter the elevator. I look in the mirror and quickly brush out my hair with my fingers as it goes down.
"This better be good or else I'll kill you for dragging me out of bed at this unearthly hour." I mutter as we get out of the elevator and out to the underground garage. He unlocks his car as he laughs at my words.
"It will be good, believe in me." he says.
"I'm so confused right now." I say as we get into his car and he immediately starts it, driving out of the underground garage, his hand finding its usual place on my thigh. "But I guess I don't need to know things anymore."
"You're correct." he grins at me. "Also, my parents are coming to visit tomorrow so I'll have to leave for the airport early in the morning. I still haven't told them that we're back together, so I was thinking that maybe I could take them out for dinner and you could come along?"
"Meeting the parents part 2." I joke and we laugh. "But seriously, I think that'd be nice."
"You're down?" he asks.
"Yeah, one hundred percent. I have missed your parents to be fair." I say and he laughs. "Your mother's croquettes have never left my mind."
"Stop, now I want them." he complains. "I'll ask her to make them for us when she comes tomorrow."
"God, please do, I beg." I plead and he laughs.
"Look." he points to the side with one of his hands that he takes off the steering wheel and I turn.
I look out of the window and ever so slightly, in the distance, I can see the sun starting to rise somewhere far away. It's so beautiful that I simply have no words.
I still have no clue where this man is taking me though. Could be kidnapping me for all I know.
After a very short drive, maybe five minutes, we arrive at a part of the beach that I've never seen yet, but it's one of the most beautiful views that I've seen. We get out of the car and he goes into his boot, taking out a towel and a blanket. He also takes out one of my bikinis, how thoughtful of him. I realise he already has his swimming trunks on. Sorry, it's too cold, he can go by himself.
"No way, it's way too cold." I say and he laughs as he passes me my bikini.
"You'll survive, trust me you'll feel so much better after." he says as he takes my hand and leads us towards the beach.
