I walk out of the stadium, making my way to Rosa's car. I take a deep breath of the chilly January air, feeling my mind fog.

We almost kissed.

What the fuck.

I told myself I was over him, that I was never ever going to go back to that.

I promised myself that before I left Tenerife.

I was done with it. That chapter is closed. And it's been closed for two years now.

But then why did I want to kiss him so bad?

Maybe it's good that Frenkie interrupted us.

I'm done with him.

Or am I?

I see Rosa sitting in the passenger seat of her car and I sit in the driver's seat as she passes me the keys to her car.

"How was the most valuable player feeling?" she asks, grinning at me.

"Good." I say simply and she looks at me.

"What happened?" she asks as I drive out of the parking space.

"Nothing." I say, glancing quickly at her as I take a left turn out of the stadium car park.

"Right." she nods, unconvinced.

I don't answer as she takes a deep breath.

"Do I have to force it out of you or what?" she asks and I sighs.

"We almost kissed." I say and I could see her shocked expression from the side.

"You and - " she starts but I interrupt her.

"Yes."

"Oh my God." she says, covering her mouth with her hand. "Why didn't you?"

"Because Frenkie came out of the changing room and interrupted us. I think he realised he interrupted something. And then, after he left I told him that he probably should go get changed and he left." I say.

"Just like that, no words?" she asks.

"Well, no, he said that he'll see me soon." I say and she nods her head but remains silent, clearly thinking. "I need you to say something, Rosa. I'm freaking out over here."

"Did you want to?" she asks.

"What?"

"Did you want to kiss him, Lara?"

"I don't know."

"It's a simple question." she states as I stop at a red light. "Yes or no, simple."

"It's not simple, though." I say and she rolls her eyes. "Don't roll your eyes at me."

"Yes or no?"
