I still couldn't quite believe I got Lara back. The universe has given me a second chance and I wasn't going to ruin and waste it this time. No more stupid decisions. No acting upon impulsive thoughts and then regretting it.

I drove to training, as happy as ever. It hadn't had quite yet settled that finally I was back with Lara.

She was my girlfriend again. After two years. And this time I knew I was ready, I could give her everything and more than she wanted. I could make her as happy as possible. I knew I could do it.

I got out of my car, almost skipping into the training centre. I didn't waste any time in walking to the changing room.

When I walked in, most of the others were already there. I saw Ferran changing, his back to me so I went up to Frenkie and hugged him.

"I can never thank you enough." I said and he laughed, hugging me back.

"I'm guessing last night went well then?" he asked and I nodded, my face already hurt from smiling so much in the past twelve hours but I didn't care.

"Really well." I said. "We're together again."

"Actually?" he asked, his face lighting up.

"Yeah." I smiled.

"I'm proud of myself." he said and I laughed.

"You should be." I said. "Godsend."

"I suppose Mikky will invite you two over once I tell her about you two." he said and I laughed. "Maybe if I tell her I was the mastermind, she'll love me more than Miles."

"Come on," I laugh. "she loves you both."

"No doubt about that." Frenkie said. "But you know what? Miles loves Lara more than anyone, more than me and Mikky. She's really good with kids."

"I know." I smile widely at his words, a warmth filling me at the mere thought of me and Lara having our own family one day. "And I love her for that."

"You two are really meant to be." Frenkie patted my back. I heard my name and we both turned to see Ferran waving me over, his phone in his hand.

"I need to go." I turned back to Frenkie. "Thanks once again, mister." I say as he laughs at me before I leave him, a wide smile on my face.

"You've got to tell me all about last night." Ferran says as I walk up to him.

In times like these, I forget he also likes her. It makes me feel a little bad for being so open about anything but he doesn't seem to mind it. He really is my best friend, he's pushing his feelings aside just to see me happy and content; not many would do that.

I explain to him the night before, smiling uncontrollably as I get changed and he just watches me, intently, sitting on the little bench since he was already changed. You'd think he'd feel weird about me telling him how I'm now together with the girl he likes but his smile almost convinces me he doesn't feel anything other than friendship towards her.
