"Are you ready?" a tan brunette asked, walking up to Lara.

"Not at all." Lara responded, making the girl laugh. "I'm freaking out, Ale."

"You'll get it." Alejandra said. "You're new to the team but everyone loves you, you're one of the best we have, even though you're one of the youngest."

"So you can be nice." Lara joked.

"Only if I like you." she whispered. "And I like you so you're lucky."

"Let's hope what you're saying is true then, no?"

"It is." Alejandra said, hugging the girl from the side as they walked to the meeting room.

"I want you to get it though." Lara said. "You've been here longer, you have more experience as well."

"You know, sometimes it's not about the experience." she said. "I obviously want to get it, as we all do, this is huge. The people attending that show will be from all the top designer brands, imagine that but I think you're better suited. Your designs are insane."

"Thanks, Andra." Lara smiled.

As soon as she started the job last week, her and Alejandra immediately became close right away. She'd already heard of Alejandra prior and loved her designs, they were so different from everyone else's and that always interested her.

"And don't care about Bianca. She's just sour that you've gotten such an opportunity after just over a week at the job whilst she's been here for two years and this her first real opportunity." Alejandra whispered as the two waited outside the meeting room, the other starting to also show up.

There was a clear tense air as people showed up. There were only six possible designers, but only one would get actually picked, the others would just help. Still something, but they wouldn't actually get to fly out to the show, they'd only help with the physical creation of the designs.

Except Alejandra, she had been working with the brand for five years now and was one of the favourites. She almost always went to all of these shows, and she was going to get flown out for this one too.

"I'm not really that worried about her." Lara shrugged. "To be honest, I don't really care about her opinion. It's all good. I know my worth so it's okay."

Alejandra smirked. "Keep it up that way."

Soon, the meeting started and they were all sat at the seats

"I think you're all suited for the job." Esmeralda, the head, said. "But, obviously, we can only have one head designer. We wanted to go for something different this time, someone who hasn't done this before, a fresh perspective might you say. We want to give eveyone a chance to show off and since this person hasn't been with us all that long at all," here Alejandra elbowed Lara next to her, smirking at her with her eyebrows raised. "we've decided that this is the chance to give them. We know what they can do and we think they will be perfect for this. Lara, congratulations, we've chosen you."

The people in the room started clapping as Alejandra hugged Lara tightly.

"Thank you." Lara said, smiling at her.

Esmeralda smiled proudly before turning to the rest. She said a few more things to them before allowing them to leave after about forty minutes.

"Right," Esmeraldra said, sitting down opposite Lara. "this is big and I know you're great at what you do, one of the best we have, and I know you won't let us down, right?"

"No." Lara shook her head. "Absolutely not."

Esmeralda smiled again. "Very well, let's go over details and I'll leave you to the designing. Brace yourself, this may take a while, there's a lot to go over."
