A/N: again I have no idea how the IVF process works
Two weeks had passed, and the day had finally arrived. Leah and Aurora sat in the waiting room of the clinic once again, this time for the most critical step in their IVF journey: the implantation.
Mateo was back at Alexia's apartment, happily occupied with his tia Ale and Nala. They'd left him giggling as Alexia pretended to lose every game of hide-and-seek, ensuring his energy stayed high while Leah and Aurora focused on the procedure.
Leah shifted slightly in her chair, her leg bouncing in a mix of nervousness and excitement. "I still can't believe we're actually doing this," she murmured, glancing at Aurora, who sat beside her, calm but clearly deep in thought.
Aurora reached over, lacing her fingers with Leah's. "It feels surreal, doesn't it? But we're here. It's happening."
A nurse stepped into the room, her warm smile immediately drawing their attention. "Mrs. Miro-Williamson and Mrs. Williamson-Miro? We're ready for you."
Leah squeezed Aurora's hand as they stood, both women taking a steadying breath before following the nurse down the familiar corridor. The room was prepped, the sterile yet hopeful atmosphere adding to the weight of the moment.
The doctor greeted them with a reassuring smile. "Welcome back. Everything is ready, and we'll proceed with the implantation as discussed. How are you both feeling?"
"Nervous," Leah admitted, her voice wavering slightly. "But excited."
Aurora nodded in agreement. "It's been a long time coming."
The doctor motioned for Aurora to take her place on the examination table, explaining each step of the process as Leah stood close by, holding her hand. "The embryo has been fertilized and developed beautifully," the doctor said. "We'll implant it today, and then it's a matter of waiting to see if it attaches successfully."
Leah swallowed hard, her grip on Aurora's hand tightening. "And if it doesn't—?"
The doctor offered a patient smile. "Then we'll try again. But there's no reason to think negatively just yet. You've both done everything right."
Aurora gave Leah a gentle tug on her hand. "Hey. We've got this. One step at a time, remember?"
Leah nodded, taking in Aurora's calm confidence. It was contagious, and she let herself relax just a little.
The procedure itself was surprisingly quick. The doctor worked with precision, explaining every movement, while Leah stayed at Aurora's side, offering quiet words of encouragement. Before they knew it, it was over.
"All done," the doctor announced. "Now it's time to rest and let nature take its course. We'll schedule a follow-up in two weeks to confirm whether the embryo has implanted successfully."
Aurora sat up slowly, her hand still in Leah's as the reality of what had just happened began to sink in. "That's it?" she asked, her voice filled with disbelief.
"That's it," the doctor confirmed. "Take it easy for the next few days, avoid strenuous activity, and stay optimistic."

As they left the clinic, the weight of the moment settled over them like a blanket. Aurora leaned against Leah as they walked to the car, her other hand instinctively resting on her stomach. "Do you think it'll work?" she asked softly.
Leah wrapped an arm around her, pulling her close. "I think we've already done everything we can. The rest is out of our hands."
Aurora nodded, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "No matter what happens, we're doing this together."
