CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WINNERS!!!!

That match was so stressful honestly.

The morning light crept gently through the curtains, golden and soft—but not enough to stir Mateo from his deep slumber. Leah and Aurora stood on either side of his bed, quietly amused, attempting for the third time to rouse their son.

"Teo," Leah whispered, brushing a hand over his curls, "time to wake up, baby."

Aurora kissed his forehead, her voice low and sing-song. "Arriba, mi amor. Wake up, cariño."

But Mateo remained stubbornly asleep, his little body curled up beneath his dino blanket, lips slightly parted as he breathed in that sweet, even rhythm only deep sleep could produce.

"He's not waking up, is he?" Leah murmured, trying not to laugh.

"Nope," Aurora said, shaking her head. "Vamos a vestirlo dormido. Let's just get him dressed while he's still out."

Between the two of them, they expertly dressed their limp toddler—changing his nappy, sliding on his soft joggers and little sweatshirt with a cartoon sun on the front. Mateo stirred only slightly, letting out a tiny sigh as Aurora lifted him gently into her arms.

"Cut up some fruit for the car?" Aurora asked, adjusting him against her chest. "He's not gonna eat his porridge properly like this, I can already tell."

"On it," Leah said, already heading toward the kitchen.

Downstairs, Aurora moved carefully, sitting with Mateo still sleep-heavy in her arms as she lowered him into his chair at the table. He blinked slowly, eyelids fluttering open halfway as if waking up underwater.

"There he is," Aurora cooed, brushing his curls back and fastening his bib. "Come on, mi vida, just a little bit."

She dipped the spoon into the porridge, blowing on it before gently pressing it to his lips. Mateo opened his mouth lazily, more out of reflex than hunger, and accepted the spoonful. But barely a second later, his head dipped, and his eyes closed again.

"Teo," Aurora said with a soft chuckle. "Amor, you're falling asleep while eating."

Mateo shifted slightly in his seat, his cheeks puffed out with warm oats as he chewed slow, unhurried, and completely unbothered. His head tilted forward, threatening to slump entirely.

Aurora sighed and looked toward the kitchen where Leah was finishing up slicing strawberries and banana into a small container. "He's not eating," she called. "Hopefully he's actually awake by the time we get to the hospital so he can see the scan."

Leah turned around with a fond smile, shaking her head. "Or he'll sleep through it and wake up right as the baby finishes waving."

Aurora chuckled as she offered Mateo one more bite. His mouth opened again, slower this time, his little hands resting slack against his tray. "This boy," she said under her breath, "he's got no idea he's about to see his little sibling today."

Mateo murmured something sleepy and incoherent in response, eyes still half-shut, his whole body swaying gently like a leaf in the breeze.

Leah walked over, pressed a kiss to his drowsy head, and looked at Aurora with a grin. "I vote we call it. Fruit in the car, scan at the hospital, nap in the car seat."

"Agreed," Aurora said, wiping a bit of porridge from Mateo's cheek. "Vamos, pequeño dinosaurio. Let's go see your little brother or sister."

"I'll take him to the car, babe," Leah said softly, her voice warm with affection but edged with practicality. "You sort his bag?"
