I walked into the living room after spending some time fixing my hair and cleverly hiding the hickey with my hair. I didn't bother with concealer since I don't have any here, and my makeup skills are basically non-existent.

"Hey, what took you so long?" Ahana asked casually but the slight smirk on her lips was the evidence that she was teasing me , causing me to blush even more, while Armaan chimed in, "Were you fetching water or preparing a feast? How did it take you so long? And hey, you still haven't brought the water, where is it?" Armaan remarked, adding to the banter.

I was about to respond when Kabir walked in with water.

"Ohho jiju , kya baat hai aap to abhi se joru ke gulam ban gye , hnn" (Ohho jiju, what's this? You've already become a slave to your wife?)Ahana teased Kabir, and I quickly pinched her to hush her up, not wanting her to say something he wouldn't like.

But to my surprise, he did the exact opposite as he softly smiled at her comment, leaving me in utter shock. I was expecting him to get angry but he was literally grinning widely and replied, "No way, if the wife is like my Ira, then I can happily serve as a devoted husband all my life" He said this while looking directly at me with those dreamy eyes , causing a flutter in my stomach making me blush intensely.

We were lost in each other's eyes, oblivious to the world around us, but would they let us be? Of course not! I heard a throat clearing, and there was Armaan, looking as if I had betrayed him, saying, "Hey guys, there are still singles here. Please spare a thought for my poor heart and continue your eye romance after we're done. I'm super hungry now, so let's eat first, okay?" His words made both of us feel embarrassed, while Ahana just giggled at our expressions. We all got up from our seats and headed outside to have bati chokha upstairs.

"By the way, try to use concealer to hide those marks instead of hairs, it will work better," he said with a wink before walking ahead, making my eyes widen as my hand immediately went to the place where he gave me a hickey.

I squeezed my eyes shut as I myself pushed my hair back few minutes back , completely forgetting about my husband's silly act. I glared at Kabir with gritted teeth for this, while he just shrugged, picked up the plates, and walked behind.

I led the way, trying to keep up with them, but they noticed me falling behind. Armaan stepped up to help, offering his shoulder for support as I placed my hand on it, trying to balance myself.

Ahana came beside me, and Armaan was about to hold me by the waist to support me properly when Kabir suddenly appeared from behind, setting the plates he was carrying on the stairs. Before I could grasp what was happening, he swiftly freed me from Armaan's grasp and, in one fluid motion, lifted me up, causing me to let out a shriek. I instinctively wrapped my arms around his neck to steady myself from the unexpected lift, while both Armaan and Ahana looked on, amused by the scene.

"Calm down jiju , calm down , mai kahi nhi le ja rha ise , don't worry , aapka kachra aapko hi mubarak" (Calm down, jiju, calm down. I'm not taking her anywhere, don't worry. Congratulations on your garbage,) Armaan teased, making me roll my eyes at him while Kabir literally ignored him that moment.

"Um, no, it's not like that. I was just, you know, trying to help," Kabir replied, slightly stuttering and showing a hint of shyness due to their teasing.

"Yeah, yeah, jiju, we know everything," Ahana replied with a wink, causing me to shoot death glares in her direction. She giggled, leaving both of us extremely embarrassed before we made our way upstairs.

"This looks so delicious! Wow, aunty, you should go on MasterChef," Armaan began with his usual buttering towards my mom.
