"No, not this one," I replied after rejecting her 25th outfit as we wandered through the store, searching for the perfect attire for my wife's first Karwachauth.
According to tradition, she was supposed to wear her wedding lehenga, but since it was made for Shyra in reality, Dadi had asked me to find her a new one. Ever since then, we had been here, sifting through countless options to find something truly special for my beloved.
"I'm tired. Now you go and get an outfit for me," she huffed, plopping down beside me after trying on so many outfits. I could see the frustration etched on her face, as I caressed her head gently , removing the hairs from her forehead.
The excitement of the day was supposed to be joyful, but the endless search was wearing her out. I wanted to find something that would make her feel beautiful and cherished.
She was sitting, resting her head on my shoulder tiredly when her gaze landed on a green lehenga that looked absolutely stunning. Her eyes sparkled the moment she saw it; it was truly beautiful. The intricate carvings, a blend of blue and green, gave off the perfect peacock vibes.
She turned towards me, eager to see my reaction, and I quickly asked the staff to bring it over so we could take a closer look. Her face lit up with joy, and she squealed in happiness at the thought of trying it on.
After finalizing that lehenga, we both let out a sigh of relief. After a struggle of 45 minutes, we had finally found the perfect outfit for her important day. Once we sent it for billing, she headed to another section of the store, to pick out a few more dresses and accessories.
I was following her as she browsed through the dresses, trying to decide which one to buy, when my phone suddenly rang.
I glanced at the caller ID and saw it was from the office. I knew that if I answered, she definitely wouldn’t want to hear me talk about work. So, I decided to keep it on silent and slid it into my pocket. A few minutes later, it rang again.
Aadhira's POV
As I was looking through the other dresses for the upcoming rituals, I noticed his phone ringing. I frowned when I saw him not taking the call but chose to let it slide and walked ahead. Moments later, it rang again. Expecting him to finally answer, I walked a bit further to give him some space, but contrary to my expectations, he denied it once more.
I turned to him, curious about who was calling him repeatedly. Just then, his phone rang again. He took it out of his pocket, glanced at the caller screen, and was about to cut the call when I quickly grabbed his hand, stopping him. "Wait! Attend this, it might be important. I can manage," I urged.
"Arre nahi nahi, I am not taking this, pakka! I’m just coming to help you," he replied, sounding almost offended, as if he thought I was being sarcastic about the call.
